Eisner and Pressler already gave him the shaft with assigning Tony Baxter to TL'98, and then ignoring him when they were working on DCA. ALL TO Disneyland's detriment. And ever since then Tony Baxter was never given another substantial project. Heck Disneyland is STILL giving Tony Baxter the shaft, by not allowing Tony Baxter a chance to redeem himself with a new version of Tomorrowland.

I don't think I'm giving away any secrets when I tell you that 3 years ago Tony was very explicit when he was discussing how unhappy he was with state of Tomorrowland especially. He also told me that he and fellow Imagineers had an entirely new Tomorrowland planned out but that he was unable to get any kind of budget approved by the suits upstairs.
Tony has always been gracious to both, me and my family every time we have met. I have nothing but good things to say about hime, and he will be missed.

We will miss you, Tony Baxter. Though, I've never met you in person and I know what you were really trying to do to improve Disneyland that the suits don't really care or want.

Corporate politics and greed at it's finest.

But, if you compare Tokyo Disney Resort to Disneyland Resort, Tokyo Disney Resort wins for it's well-maintained attractions and higher budget, something that Tony Baxter will do to improve and pluss the attractions up. However, TDL's old attractions such as POTC was given the movie-tie in treatment and Pixar based attractions. Also, their Enchanted Tiki Room has became Stichland since 2008. But currently for the TDA team at Disneyland Resort, they have been improving with the refurbishment of attractions. IJA looks better than before, Matterhorn looks good, but the ride is very jerky and rough! IASW has been looking fresh and new, HM still needs help though, Fantasyland dark rides are ok, and Tomorrowland definitely needs a new overhaul that suppresses over the '98 Tomorrowland.

Tony is not only a great Imagineer but he knows how to put other great Imagineers with him on a team. Just look at Disneyland Paris!

A team that has almost been completely purged from the halls of 1401 Flower St.

Maybe Tony Baxter will lead a revolution of imagineers that like him and call it Baxter's Army.

Thanks for all the magic Tony.

How likely is it for him to get a window on Main Street?

That's a great question, I would imagine (see what I did there!) he would get one but you never know.

Did you read the note from Walt Disney Imagineering? If he gets one in the short term it'll be through gritted teeth.

Maybe Steve Wynn and his company will pick up Tony now.

Hmm that is all pretty unfortunate. Hadn't realized it had gotten that bad

    I adore Tony Baxter.

His genuine love of Disneyland and the values that the company once stood for were clearly evident in his work.

His departure is a great loss to the Disney company, whether or not they know it yet.

    Sad news indeed.

Yeah, it's sad how Disney has treated Tony Baxter for nearly 20 years. But, it's also sad that Tony Baxter Decided to put up with it. Too bad Tony wasn't the one to give Disney the ultimatum (back in '95 to '98), rather than Disney giving Tony the ultimatum now.

Maybe one day Tony will be able to release an UNEDITED version of that paragraph.

This does remind me of when Roy Disney was forced off the Disney Board.
Did Tony not want to work on the '98 TL? What were his ideas that they did not want to go with?

How did they ignore him? What were his ideas or thoughts for DCA?

Is there a reason why they don't want a new version of TL?
