Talking I went on Pirates on Saturday and actually enjoyed it again.

I don't know why I've been letting all the movie additions bug me so much the last couple of years. I do like the movies, especially the first one. The ride just felt like Pirates:the adventures of Jack Sparrow! to me. Ooops I forgot to put captain in there

I think the over the top thing that bugged me the most was the projections in the cave. More so that the focus shifting from it being an attraction about pirates to an attraction about finding CJS.

It's still a fantastic ride though and I'm surprised it lasted that long since my glass is normally half full. :-P

I have to admit though I was still a little irked in the cave. No Mr Jones and Blackbeard, dead men tell NO tales, undead men do. Thank you drive though!

Glad you enjoyed it. I think they did a good job of incorporating the movies while keeping the integrity of the ride.

Jack Sparrow in the Pirates rides doesn't bother me much. He was in a few cameos. It's the movies that suck. Who would want to sit through 3 hours of crud? Except for the first, which is also the best, the last 3 movies were disappointments.

I still enjoy Pirates for the ride itself, just disappointed in how CJS was added. However, when I truly long for original, I can pop in my cd of Disneyland's 50th and listen to how it USED to be.

The dark tunnel used to be one of my favorite spots on the ride. As a kid I used to love hearing the two pirates offer their warning to you before you exit the cave. It was so much more eerie and daunting than Blackbeard and Davey Jones.

"No fear have ye of evil curses says you...harrrrrr haha properly warned ye be says I. Who knows when that evil curse will strike the greedy beholders of this bewitched treasure..."

    SO GOOD

I'm afraid it has been a long time since I rode with out the addition of Jack, but this dark tunnel, was it right before the battle scene?

My biggest gripe with the ride is being seated with people in the boat who do not know how to shut their pie holes. I will never understand it, you have been standing in line for 20 minuets and between the 1st and second waterfall is the time when you fell it necessary to discuss a funny YouTube vide that you saw? Really?
