    Re: Barbaraann's Anniversary Tale

After my delicious sweet potato fries and burger at The Hungry Bear, I headed towards Thunder Ranch to see Billy Hill, and the Hillbillies. Look who I ran into. Andy's favorite Toy, before Buzz came along, and then I think they shared those honors.

Well since the trail from Frontierland to Fantasyland was open, I cam upon the Casey Jr. Ride.

    I think I can ride the train. I think I can. I think I can. I know I did.

    Re: Barbaraann's Anniversary Tale

It was a long day for me. I started it at early entry at DCA, and I ended up with a front row seat for the Soundsational Parade in Town Square. I was quite tired, but never too tired to watch a parade.

Next up is my first Sunday in the parks. (On this trip, of course). Sundays are special, because they include Sunday Meets, and one never knows what special things will happen at a Sunday Meet.

The statue is a small one outside of the hotel where I am staying, but it's nice to see upon my arrival, and after a long day in the parks. There' something nice about the noise of a fountain that I find soothing.

Thanks. I try to let the pictures tell the story mostly.

My new camera takes much better photos than my old one did. As different as night and day, so to speak.

Much, much more to come, as I was there for 10 days, and we are up to the beginning of day three.

    Re: Barbaraann's Anniversary Tale

Day Three: I didn't take many pictures on this day. Well not as many as on the other days.

I headed out on Sunday morning to the park, because it was Early Entry for Annual Passholders at Disneyland. That meant that I had to leave my hotel by about 6 a.m. in order to be there for a 7 a.m opening. As you can see, it was still dark outside. That was the morning that the ART bus decided to swallow up my card. I discovered later that I had to swipe it instead of inserting it into the slot. I was just glad that I got it back, because it was day 3 on a 5 day ART pass. I had bought 2 of those for my 10 day trip.

I love the Snow White Wishing Well and Snow White's Grotto. I also love the pictures bigger. I thought I'd make them smaller, but I changed my mind.

My first ride of the day was Peter Pan. I rode it multiple times.

Then of course came Dumbo, my favorite ride in Fantasyland.

    Re: Barbaraann's Anniversary Tale

I headed next to the other dark rides in Fantasyland. Mr. Toad, Snow White, and Pinocchio. Snow White broke down 1/2 way through the ride, and we were walked off. On Pinocchio, I actually met a cast member that I knew. It was an interesting morning, so far.

It was a rainy morning, and so I didn't get to ride either Alice, or the Teacups. However I did get back to them later.

I now headed to Tomorrowland where I rode Buzz Lightyear. I never get any better on that ride, and never make it out of Level 2. However, it is always fun

    Re: Barbaraann's Anniversary Tale

There were three different vehicles on Main Street that Sunday morning. The Omnibus, and the horseless carriage, and the horsedrawn streetcar. I rode two of them. The car, and the bus.

By this time of the morning, I was good and hungry. I headed for The Riverbelle Terrace for some breakfast. When I ordered my food inside, I was told that my breakfast was on the house. That made me smile, and made my breakfast extra yummy. As I sat there, and enjoyed my food, I got to wondering. Could this have anything to do with the cast member I had just talked to a bit ago? I shared with her my bus card incident, and getting walked off SNow White. Magic? Random act of kindness?

My next stop was Jungle Cruise. I took a lot of pics of that ride. The skipper was so funny, and he delivered his lines, in true "Jungle Cruise Skipper Fashion".

The remainder of my morning was spent with Disney characters. I started at Pixie Hollow, where I met Periwinkle. She was so adorable, as I told her about all the snow in my home town of Chicago.

Time for princesses. I met three of them on that Sunday morning. Ariel, Belle, and Tiana. I told Tiana how much I loved her singing in the Bayou Bash that was performing in New Orleans Square.

My next stop was Toontown where I met Minnie, and Mickey.

Then there was Merida, the lassie from Brave. I must admit, that I still need to watch that movie.

Very cool about the free breakfast! I wonder why they gave it to you for free?

Edit: DUH! I know now...because you showed them that wonderful smile and bubbly fantastic personality and they said "She deserves free food!"

    Re: Barbaraann's Anniversary Tale

I have been to a few Noon Meets in my day. Sometimes a lot of pictures are taken, but on this particular day, I only had one taken.

There were a lot of people there, and we stood around and talked for a very long time. I met a few new people, and said hi to some MiceChatters that I have known for a long while. It was nice.

    Re: Barbaraann's Anniversary Tale

The Noon Meet went from the Hub to Jolly Holiday Bakery, where we had lunch. Well other people had lunch food. I had a hot tea, and a Matterhorn Macaroon. I love that particular concoction, due to my love of coconut.

The next stop was a 2nd ride for me on Haunted Mansion. It's a known fact that MiceChatters love to ride both Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Now the next post will have lots of pictures, as we crossed over into DCA, and enjoyed the Newsboys show.
