Silly Symphony Swings Removed For Refurb?
I just saw this on the MiceChat Facebook page. Does anyone know what is going on? I don't remember hearing anything about a major refurb happening to SSS. Anyone have any insight?

Update: I checked the refurb schedule and it's down until the 14th of this month. I guess I was just thrown off by the whole ride being removed.

Someone please tell me that I'm not the only one looking at that area without the ride and thinking how awesome it would be to have that space for dancing or something. Top level can have a band in the center. Open up the bottom a bit, but keep the canopies and have two levels of dance space. Obviously this isn't going to happen for multitudes of reasons, but I can't help but see it right there.

I'm with you since I think SSS is a pretty lame attraction to begin with LOL
Re: Silly Symphony Swings Removed For Refurb?
It's a little startling to see an entire ride absent, but that type of ride travels around carnivals on trucks so it must not be too hard to break it down.
As picturesque as that site may be for other purposes I think that ride fits perfectly in that spot. It's cleverly themed as a tornado (from "The Band Concert" which isn't a Silly Symphony, but whatever) and the elevation over the water gives it an extra zing, particularly if you're on it when Goofy's Instant Concert starts, which I once was.

I'd love something besides the swings too! Don't care for them. It's so odd seeing nothing in that spot.
Re: Silly Symphony Swings Removed For Refurb?
So, how about turning the space in to a place for 'swing dancing'. Get it? SWING dancing? OK, I'll leave now.
Re: Silly Symphony Swings Removed For Refurb?
WHAT? They're adding a loop?

it must be a really big rehab if they took out the entire thing

Same here. Dancing is fun and nice and all, but I believe the swings appeal to a much larger chunk of guests than dancing. Put the swing dancing in the Paradise garden area. The tables are never full and the area is much prettier than the Carnation plaza was. Theres already a bandstand...

Good idea, the Paradise Gardens area would be great for dancing. Leave the swings alone.

It's so fun! I know it's not much but I love the gazebo, the music and the fresh air.

I really like the Silly Symphony Swings. It's charming and gentle. A nice relaxing ride when we've had a long day of going on more thrilling attractions.
I can't remember very well, is there enough space for dancing in the Paradise Garden area? If so, I think that is a nice idea.

I guess I just don't care about them because that one is not good on me!
