Re: Confiscated Items: What does Disneyland do with the items ?

On Sunday, someone was stopped for bringing an Xbox 360 Media Remote still in its packaging. I'm not sure what the resolution was, but was certainly surprised that they stopped him.

    Poison apples, mouse traps...

But seriously, there a whole list of things you can't bring into the parks. Heck, they're listed on the Disneyland website. Theme Parks | FAQ | Disneyland Resort See?

And yes, CMs find these things all the time.

Items go either to the trash, security, or you are instructed to take it back to your car.

So I just tossed them out (they werent worth being late to a show). In hindsight, I could have just placed them in my BF's pocket and snuck em in.
You didn't know it, but security was watching you. Had you decided to hide them on your bf, you both would have been escorted back to your car.

There's a lot of stuff behind the scenes that you aren't aware of. Bag check isn't the end all, it's just the beginning of security.

Usually there is one side of the security check with literally no one in line. Go through there. The worst they will do is tell you to stop, but I've never been told to go back because they can see I have no bag.

Re: Confiscated Items: What does Disneyland do with the items ?

On one of our last visits my 6 year old son had a fluorescent yellow water gun. The see through .99cent kind. Well they stopped us and said take it back or throw it away. Try explaining to a young boy why we have to throw his toy away. We were upset because it wasnt a real weapon, didn't even look like a real weapon and my husband was upset because had it been a Disney gun bought from Pieces of Eight or Adventureland it would have been totally fine.

We wound up walking back towards the tram and when we were out of sight my 15 year old put it in his pocket and we separated and walked through the other safety side by La Brea Bakery.

back in the 80s disneyland use to have the best yard sales that would have tons of lost merchandise sold for pennies on the dollar. i use to get mickey ears and peter pan hats for a quarter and all I would do is pull the stitching on the name. cameras were like a buck. they would do the yard sales in front of the casting building on harbor blvd. great memories of what i would get for about 5 bucks. wow 5 bucks. ya that doesnt stretch out very far these days compared to back then.

That set me to wondering, what does the park do with the items that are confiscated ?
The best items that are confiscated will become characters in the next Pixar Movie.

I had to read that twice to make sure I was reading it right.
