Re: Things you should do at least once in Disneyland

I think I am most excited about the canoes! I have done the Jungle Cruise a few times at night and thought it was wonderful...As far as the Storybook Canals at night I have yet to do it. But that was one of the rides we did last time and although I enjoyed it (as did the kids) I'm not sure I need to do it again.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but if you have kids, take them to the wilderness explorer area at DCA (near Grizzly River Run) where they can get an explorer badge after completing a number of activities (such as climbing rocks, going on a zip-line type device, etc.). Good place for parents to rest as well!

Paddle a canoe around the Rivers of America. So many people skip over what I think is one of the best experiences in the entire Resort.

Chances are slim on this one but I always enjoyed the Mark Twain at night. It was pre-Fantasmic when you could ride the rivers nightly. If the stars align and you get a chance though, this is worth it.

Agreed! The wifey and I did this two visits ago, it was so nice and mellow.

-Ride Matterhorn at night (When you can barely see anything)
-Ride Ghost Galaxy (I didn't like it, but it's something you should do)
-Ride Big Thunder Railroad during the fireworks
    -Search for hidden mickeys

I guess that it (For things I've done). I need to get a Dole Whip and/or watch Enchanted Tiki Room for the first time.

We were there in Oct, party of 5, three kids, two adults. Asked to sit in the front, they would only allow 4. Saw a big party get off the tail, asked if we could all 5 ride there, and bingo, there we were...

That Oct trip was my first without my ex (who has NO Disney magic, don't know how I put up with that for 14 years). When I was a kid, there were things my family always did, we had Disneyland traditions. So this trip, I introduced the kids to MY Disney traditions. First ride, the train. As a kid, we always did that first, all the way around. My son hadn't been on it since he was probably 3 or 4, my girls had never been. We loved it. Did the monorail in the back, full loop, they loved that too. Did Haunted Mansion Holiday (they love the movie), Splash Mt, Tiki Room (haven't done that in years either), rides, rides, rides, and fireworks... It was an amazing trip, just sharing these bits of history, mine and Walt's...

I went again a couple of weeks ago, without the kids, and did all the rides I haven't been on since having kids. Space Mt, Matterhorn, Storybook boats, normal Mansion, Indy, Roger Rabbit. Again, had a great time!!!

I think the other posters pretty much covered everything, lol. Big Thunder is down for rehab, as is the Mark Twain and Fantasmic. Bonus, that side of the park is pretty empty. Canoes are a lot of fun too. Mellow, but so much fun. Oh, if you get off the train at New Orleans Sq, you might catch them filling her up. We saw it while in line for Mansion, then when we took the train from Tomorrowland to NO Square, they were doing it again, and I was trying to watch. The older engineers saw me, told me to "go on over around there" (to the HM fastpass qeue) and I could totally see everything they were doing. And got caught in a blast of steam, lol... And got to listen to a guest asking the senior engineers if they were REALLY filling the train with water... It was awesome.

Ride the Lilly Belle parlor car on the Disneyland railroad, the wheel house for the mark Twain and get a pilots license. Play musical chairs at coke corner with Alice and hatter.

Anyone else think these two lists are just a tad too similar? Disney is watching!

Pilots license? For the Mark Twain or is this something else?
