Question Wait listed for attractions position, good or bad?

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, I'm new to micechat and I don't know where to post this

I just did an interview for an attractions position at Disneyland Resort (anaheim) and it all went pretty well. After the interview she told me to wait for her out in the waiting room for a few minutes. Few minutes after, she called me back into her office and discussed the job roles and if I was okay with repetitiveness and if I can swim. At that point I thought I got the job but she told me that at the moment they're fully staffed but she'll put me on the waiting list. So I'm wondering how good/bad are my chances of getting this job?

Any help would be wonderful. I think she liked me and I answered all of her questions well. I told her the most important thing as an employee was safety and that I was also fully available

I don't know from personal experience, but from what I've read being waitlisted is as good as being hired, it's just a matter of the position opening up.

I'm also curious as to what attraction requires swimming?

Canoes? Raft operator? Not normally but maybe in an emergency.

She asked me if I could swim, if I was afraid of heights, and if I was claustrophobic probably to see if I was compatible with the attractions. I really hope I get the job
    anyone else been waitlisted before?

You may at this point be waiting until summer, less likely Spring Break. Staff rises at these times and being wait listed often means you are put in reserve for the high demand times.

You may also get hired into a different position. Ride is popular, so they need to fill unpopular things, such as food and retail locations. Be prepared to sell popcorn and t shirts.

Sounds like you're on a wait list and will be offered the job when something becomes available. I could imagine them calling you up during the peak months.

Also, congratulations and welcome to MiceChat! You may want to consider posting your question in the Breakroom forum. It is for CMs, though I don't know that it gets much activity. Worth a shot, though!

I would guess that they would post you on a water ride or on Cannos or Tom Sayers Island. Good luck! Oh and tell us when the post you and where. Also Just a warning that Disney patrols Micechat and other Disney related Websites so becareful on what you post from now on. They are watching you.

Re: Wait listed for attractions position, good or bad?

When I worked long ago as a CM, I thought them telling me I was on the wait list was the "nice Disney" way for saying no thanks. But I received a letter 2-3 weeks later offering me a job!

Some else said it, but you may be waiting until May or so. I really have no idea how long the wait will be. It used to be that summer was the big hiring season. Now, with no true slow season, who knows?

    Good luck and have fun!

PS Even though they asked if you can swim, do try to stay out of the rivers and lagoon.

Why wait? You should have picked up a FastPass before the interview. Then you could work somewhere else until your return date comes. But do not even think of coming back after the return window.

When it comes to swimming I would only assume that means you are considered for a job on Pirates of the Caribbean, the area of Rivers of America (Mark Twain or Columbia), It's a Small World, Storybook Canal Boats, Davy Crockett Canoes, the raft to Tom Sawyer's Island, Finding Nemo Submarines, or Splash Mountain.

Congrats on making it that far. Hopefully you get a call soon!

Waaaaay back when I was applying I got a letter saying they weren't looking for anyone but they'd keep me in mind. A few hours after getting the letter I got a phone call saying I was hired.
