Re: Do they still ask for proof if ID when shopping?

Yes they show ID I get it alot and I use cash when it's food or like when I was there on the 17th they wanted me to show ID when I had my AP to get a discount off the shirt I wanted. I have no troble with that it helps out from people to stop from people taking your ID.

I think it's annoying. I think it's dumb that they don't still have our picture on the back of the ap card.

Re: Do they still ask for proof if ID when shopping?

I always get asked - and I know they have a photo of me;I was an AP when the pictures were on the cards. I know they still have it because I've seen my photo flash on the screen at the gates from time to time coming into the park.

I don't care that they ask me; I'm already getting out my credit card/money to pay and it's two seconds out of my life to reach into the other compartment and show my ID. Better safe than sorry.

I will say that I miss having my AP photo on my card, just because it felt more personalized.

Re: Do they still ask for proof if ID when shopping?

They are supposed to ask you for it. The names need to match the AP and the ID you have. It;s their policy and I understand why it's there. It's so they don't get a bunch of people using other peoples APs for discount. I am not sure how this could annoy anyone though you know they are going to ask for it every time just hand them both at the time of your purchase. If its that annoying you could always forfeit your discount so you wouldn't have to do the annoying process of pulling out your AP and ID every time.

Thanks everyone. I too wish they still had the pictures on the card. That would help eliminate some of the ID asking.

Re: Do they still ask for proof if ID when shopping?

I've been asked for my ID 95% of the time I eat or shop. Now I just have my AP, ID and Credit card out and ready to show before I reach the registers because I know they're going to ask me for Identification.

I get asked about 95% of the time also. I too just keep the 3 cards together.

I don't mind not having my picture on the back of my pass. Those pictures were small, grainy, and in black and white. What I do mind is that Disney's system for reading APs works differently in different locations. If it can show a picture at the turnstile, it shouldn't be difficult to have the picture pop up when I make a purchase somewhere.

Agreed - I get asked more often than not. Maybe not 95%, but at least 70%.

The picture is only linke to the entry gates, not at registers.

It makes sense that they ID you so that you cannot give your discount to non-AP holders, or so people can't use your stolen AP for discount.

Yes, it would be easier if they could link the photo to the registers, but until then, ID it is. As I said earlier, there should be no reason to NOT have your ID on you, so it shouldn't be an inconvenience to show it when asked.

Hey, we're lucky we get a discount with our AP's. You want them to take it away? Let people get the discount without really having an AP...Disney's solution will be that NOONE gets a discount
