Lone Ranger Test Light BTMRR Refurb

Couldn't help but notice that the BTMRR refurb has a familiar looking star on the lights,

Very similar, or maybe identical, to the Lone Ranger's badge

I wonder if this is part of a promotion, or just an aesthetic test for lights that would one day be used on a Western River Expedition style Lone Ranger ride in Frontierland . . . supposedly it either Oz or Lone Ranger for a new E Ticket for Frontierland at some point.

Oz seems more fantasyland than Frontierland. Either way, it's all just speculation at this point.

It looks cool, I could see a Long Ranger ride fitting in well in Fronteirland. I just hope it doesn't mean BTMRR will become the Lone Ranger ride which I doubt it will.

Also when I saw the pics people posted of the walls around BTMRR I couldn't help but think of the Lone Ranger as well.

Pretty much all western-type stars look like the ones in the pictures posted.

Take a look at the star on the top of the lamp, looks like a badge to me. Also, Disney obviously has some kind of use rights to the star since it is in the movie.

That's definetely a new look we haven't seen in the park before right? The top really does look like a badge to me.

I would like a Lone Ranger ride but I think it is just a star in a circle on a lamp. It could be foreshadowing a Lone Ranger ride but not a Lone Ranger overlay for BTMRR.

If The Lone Ranger is a success (which I'm hoping it will be) I wouldn't mind seeing a Lone Ranger attraction as part of a Frontierland expansion. That being said, I want Big Thunder to be left as is.

As for the lanterns, the circle containing a star is a fairly common western motif, so I wouldn't put too much thought into it.

It's a pretty typical western-style logo. If they are sneaking a Lone Ranger theme into Thunder Mountain I'm going to be mad. Just saying.

Could just be a coincidence, although they could have choose tons of designs for those lamps...it's a little fishy that they chose one that looks exactly like the badge from the film. I'm sure they're not going to put the Lone Ranger in Btmrr. It's not like POTC where the ride is actually based on the ride. If they were going to put TLR in BTMRR, they would've put Jungle Book in The Jungle Cruise, UP in Soarin, and Stitch in Space Mountain by now. Actually that last one almost came lol

Yes it is typical western shape but never before seen at Disneyland and during a year with a movie coming out that uses that shape. Seems kind of odd to me. Although that color scheme seems a bit odd too for BTMRR

What you are seeing in that photo is the shadow from the lighting. A nautical star is generally associated with the Navy or Marines, so it would make 0 sense if it was - which it's not.

plus the texas rangers logo is copyrighted.
I have no idea where the Texas Rangers come into play in all of this..
