Cars Land Mater's Ride

Is this ride like the Teacups, though? I have watched POV's on YouTube and it kind of looks like that.

I never ride the cups because I have vertigo issues so I would hate to wait in line only to be unpleasantly surprised.

I have inner ear issues too that causes me vertigo once in a while. Mater doesn't bother be. If i were experiencing a vertigo episode i wouldn't go on it though. It whips you back and forth pretty good.

No, it isn't like the Teacups. I have issues when it comes to spinning as well, but Mater's is totally fine. It's a double figure-8 shape, so you aren't ever really spinning in a full circle. You're more weaving through and around the turntables.

They are repainting it I believe with paint that is supposed to last longer. As for the attraction I love it. I think they nailed the spirit of Mater perfectly with it.

Agree, you really feel Mater's presence, if that makes sense. They were going to go with an animatronic Mater DJ, but it got cut, even so I really love the ride and it's totally worth the wait.

It's a great family ride. And those whips pack a punch. You can feel all that stored energy ready to let loose on the whips.

It's no E ticket, but it's more fun than it looks! I'll go on it with the wife if the wait is 20 mins or less.

And see if you can find the hidden mickey in the queue.

Half the fun is listening to the music of the ride while you wait in line. I dare you to not be hooked on it by the end.

We went on Mater's once and and on Luigi's once and that was enough for us. We love Radiator Springs and Cars Land overall but those two rides just don't cut it for us.

Has anybody been on the Mater's ride at DCA? I am going in May and I am wondering if it is worth the wait. First time poster btw.

It's great... one of the rides that's a lot more fun than it looks. (also the queue is really good, if you've seen the Mater's Tall Tales series of shorts...)

I'm late to the party, but wanted to add in my two cents:

My husband and I had been skipping this ride up until a month or two ago because we thought it was a "kid ride".

Now we go on it EVERY trip! It's a blast!
