Re: Wizard of Oz vs. Lone Ranger for Circle D/BTR BBQ Expansion

    From MiceAge Update 4/23
The Lone Ranger movie premiere will be held more traditionally in the 2,000 seat Hyperion Theater, instead of outdoors like the Pirates premieres.
It would be more fitting if the premiere was in Frontierland. Or maybe in the Festival Arena, like the Stranger Tide sneak peek. (I don't know how it was set up or the capacity, just a thought.) If they had it at the Festival Arena, I could have been a hint to what is(might) to come.

How am I supposed to vote before The Lone Ranger even comes out? I'm kind of scared about the casting of Johnny Depp as Tonto. Tonto shouldn't be comic relief.

There should be a sticky thread called "This Day in Disney History." The company has a long history and this would be a good way to acknowledge it. Walt was born 112 years ago; that's quite a chunk of American history and culture.

This isnīt really a rumor. It is just a fun poll. I think it helps to classify these posts differently so that when your scanning through the posts, you can click on items that are correctly classified.

    :-)

Lone Ranger. I donīt really like the idea of Oz in the Magic Kingdom.

These movie attraction rumors may not have a strong or reliable source but they are still rumors. The Circle D/ BTR expansion is definitely a rumor posted by Miceage.

From Tony Baxter's New Project For Disneyland
...jokingly asked him, "So are you ever going to be allowed to fix Frontierland or Tomorrowland?
To which he replied "As a matter of fact, we've got some big plans for Frontierland that are depending on the success of an upcoming movie, and I'll just leave it at that"
If Tony Baxter actually said this, two possible movies are Lone Ranger and Oz. I picked these two because they were the most talked about to be use for the expansion. There are or were other threads that mentioned these rumors. (FYI i did not make up these rumors)

Maybe he was referring to Iron Man III or Planes.

So do you think he hinted at a possible Iron Man or Planes attraction/land for the Frontierland expansion? No Way. Read the supposed quote, he said "big plans for Frontierland"

Or did you meant Iron Man or Planes can affect if they do the explansion or not? I don't think there are any connections. I think it depends on the success of the two movies of this thread only. Based on what I have read in this forum, Disney is leaning towards the Lone Ranger.

Neither. That should have been a poll option.

    Inspirational!

WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST: I'll get you, my pretty, and your faithful companion, too!
    DOROTHY: Run, Tonto, run!

RANGER OF OZ: As for you, my galvanized friend, you want a saddle sore. You don't know how lucky you are not to have one
TIN COWBOY: But I still want one....
RANGER OF OZ: Why, anybody can have a saddle sore! Every wretched rustler who cops a cow or slinks through a saloon has a saddle sore. But, they have one thing you haven’t got: a horse. Therefore, by virtue of the authority invested in me by the Cowpoke Committiartum E Hippus Satiricum, I hereby confer upon you Rex, the Wonderhorse Deluxe!
TIN COWBOY: Oh, look! It canters!
