And what happens to the wait staff? They are no doubt accustomed to the income they get from the tips. Are they furloughed and return after refurb, or are they reassigned to some prime job, like custodial?

Re: If pirates is closed in april, is the Blue Bayou too?

Well... I have a few options, as a CR who has been with the company not-very-long (8 months):

    1. Transfer to a different department and lose all my seniority (hotels, attractions, stores)
    2. Quit and find a new job, possibly re-hire, still lose all my seniority (but keep my knowledge... maybe fineagle my seniority back)
    3. Give FULL availability and pray pray pray that I get enough hours to eke out my car payment, gas, and food expenses (about $500/month-- 20 hours/week)
    4. Completely limit my availability and find another job to make ends meet and somehow work around the sad 4 hr shift/week Disney would probably then provide.
    5. Apply for a personal leave of absense

Whateve it comes down to, I think I'd lose heart to work at Disney if I lost my seniority, because then I'd lose my favorite shifts-- my Fantasmic! Balcony H/H shifts...

Anybody have a job that could work me weeknights?

With the current high turnover, doesn't that put you towards the top of the list?!

Good luck finding something to tide you over.

Disney should really let the Blue Bayou staff help with the refurb. I'm sure they could help re-record the auctioneer to say "I'm not spongeing for rum, it be Monte Cristo Sandwiches I'm after."

    ^ HAha.

How much does a Monte Cristo cost? I heard there's 2 different kinds or different kinds of side orders. I finally made a reservation and am gonna try it on Sunday.

BTW, is there a kids meal in BB? If so, I heard its now only for kids. Instead of adults buying kids meals for themselves. My sis buys kids meals all the time (shes 17).

Having made thousands of them, I can tell you it's a good sandwich, but well overpriced. Of course, what on the BB menu isn't? And, lets face it, much as we love to buy stuff there, what at the DLR isn't?

PS...Tell me...does the Pirates/Bayou rehab also mean a major refurb for the New Orleans Main Kitchen? It always did during my time there...and it meant major cutbacks for the people working there as well and major headaches using other kitchens around the park and scrambling to get food to the French Market and other such places...has that changed?

The sandwhich is HUGE and comes in two pieces, thus making it easy to share I'd say, have your sister order off the kids menu but don't be surprised if she's not allowed.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

They're going to try and be open in time for the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest premiere in late June. But... we can all just cross our fingers on that.

I might go back to my old job at Blockbuster.. isn't that cute?

Ok, I tried it. Indeed it was huge. If I went a few minutes earlier, could have got riverfront seats, oh well. The sandwich was $12.99. It's enough for 2 people. I was practically stuffed most of the day. My friends described it as an expensive freshly made Hot Pocket. It's basically the same ingredients, too. But it was still good.

IS SHARING ONE MONTE CRISTO ORDER ALLOWED?!? If it is, I'll most likely do that. My friends had the crab cakes and chicken. It was all right.

DOLE WHIP WAS STILL OPEN PAST 7PM TOO!! And the foods CM had hawaiian shirts instead of boring brown shirts.
