Space mountain with the lights on

Found this pic i took not too long ago on space mountain when it broke down. It really looks different with the lights on! Anyone have more pics of any rides broke down : )

I've never been in there with the lights on. I'm sure it would be a real different experience.

I wish that would happen at least once in my life. I've been stuck on Pirates but there wasn't much to see. Got stuck on the Matterhorn recently but it was right at the end before the station...lulz and in broad daylight!

Star Tours malfunctioned before the final flight check...C3PO didn't want to fly so we had to leave our flight and be transferred.

I have to ask, are those exit signs usually glowing when the ride is in progress? Or are they turned on with the rest of the lights?

I got to ride with the lights off, once. The experience is just not the same. It's still fun, but not as interesting. The track is so close together and it's rather plain-looking inside. Let's keep the lights off!

wow! i never realized how overlapping the track was. being in the dark, i really had this idea that space mountain took up a huge amount of space, but it looks like it is just a room of a track going round and round.

Briberry on YouTube just posted a brief "with lights on" she experienced a few weeks ago. 4 trains on the track simultaneously. Crazy.

I once got stuck on Space Mountain. Sadly, I did not get stuck inside the space part It was the beginning of the last hour of the night, and my friend and I wanted Space Mountain to be the last ride we went on before we headed home. We boarded the rockets and started our ascent. Our rockets literally reaches the end of the lift, right before we enter the space area and then stops! After a few minutes of waiting, the lights turned on. I was so excited since I have never been stuck on a ride before, especially since it was Space Mountain and it was known that if you get stuck, you get to ride the attraction with the lights on! But I guess the CMs decided that since it was the end of the night and Disneyland was going to close soon, there was no point in trying to get the attraction running again for the day. So they decided to evac us all, including the people inside the space part. We had to carefully climb out of our rockets and walk back down the stairs towards the loading area. At the exit, the CMs gave us the special Fastpasses for the inconvenience. Since it was the end of the night, all the rides had short wait times so the pass ended up pretty useless so I decided to keep it as a souvenir.

I still have that pass. It's a constant reminder of how I ALMOST got to experience Space Mountain with the lights on. It still makes me quite sad. But I still remain hopeful. One day I'll get to experience Space Mountain with the lights on. One day. (But please let that not be on Gumball Rally *knock on wood*)

It is so wierd with the lights on. Despite it ruins the fun of the ride. I would like to ride it with the lights on.
