    RSR Fastpasses without early entry?

We will be in the parks post spring break Tues- Fri. Due to the fact that we arrive in the afternoon on Tuesday and have plans for Thurs & Fri morning, Wednesday will be the day we are in DCA. That is also the day that Disneyland Resort guests get early entry to that park.

I know that RSR fastpasses go quick - if we get to the park pre-rope drop and head straight to the fastpass area would we still be able to get Fastpasses before they run out? Any idea how late the return time will be? We want to do WOC that night and don't want to have to run from Cars land to the viewing area. Would it be better to just get straight in line for Standby or will those lines be crazy long from early entry guests by then?

    Any info is appreciated!

We've gotten fast passes a couple of times even when there was early entry. You are taking a chance that they will be in the late afternoon or evening but you'll never know until you get there.

They don't actually start dispensing the fast passes until the park officially opens but early entrees can form a line then the line that forms for regular guests goes right behind. You should have no problem getting a fast pass as long as you are there around park opening.

And, I've discovered, the RSR line moves much more quickly first thing during Extra Magic Hours. It's the only time I'll ride it during the day. So you could wait in line for Fastpasses during your whole hour of extra time or go ride the ride.

Me: "Yes. It happened after a recent trip to Neverland."
Peter Pan: "Well, you can dunk your head in the pond behind us, if you want."

From what you are saying, you don't get early entry and are worried those guests will get all the FPs for RSR.

CassiefRN is correct FPs are not distributed until normal opening. Let's say the park opens at 9am. EMH starts at 8am. Rope Drop may allow regular guests in at 8:30am.

The regular guests from a line for FPs in front of the Carthay Theatre the winds back into Hollywood Land during the Rope Drop. The EMH guests form their own line in front behind the FP distribution area going back toward Carthay Theatre druing the EMH. At opening 9am for this example, the FP kiosks open, the regular guests are led up to the end of the EMH guests. In about 10-20 minute the EMH guests all have their FPs and the regular guests are getting there's. In 1.5-2 hours, 11am they are all distributed.

So you can get at the front of the FP line for reguar guests and wait 30 minutes during the Rope Drop, and another 10-15, and have FP for a return around about noon.

I was worried that early morning guests would snap up the FP - good to know I will still get them!

Wait wait What? U have to stand in just to get a fastpass during opening!? Wouldn't it make more sense to just go to the standby line than to get wait to get a fastpass during park opening

That works well, but you have to have acess to the EMH to do that when the line is short. If you go strait to RSR at opening you may end up likely waiting more to ride RSR than with a FP.

If you come to DCA during Rope Drop, you have to wait at the rope to get onto RSR with a short wait. So the time waiting in the FP line isn't nessecarily wasted. Also if you have more than one adult or a responsible child you can have one person wait in the FP lines with all the tickets/passes and the other(s) look in the stores or grab some breakfast on Buena Vista Street. Or walk into the park, then exit and go to DTD or back to the hotel room. All tickets have to be used to enter a park by the ticket/pass holder before it can be used to get FPs.
