This is a great idea. I'm looking through them all. I'm one wishing I could have done this 22 years ago. Two I am now hungry. Three seeing lots of things I want to try but probably can't have.
side note, when it said pies I went to the meat variety not of the desert kind!
Does any one recommend the big thunder ranch BBQ ?

Big Thunder Ranch BBQ is good if you are a big eater, you can eat as much of everything as you want and get unlimited drink refills as well. The corn bread is actually my favorite thing on the menu there, but it is so filling, that you won't want to eat much else. The BBQ ribs are the favorite of most, the BBQ sauce is very good. If you order the chicken, ask for BBQ sauce on the side, because the chicken doesn't have a sauce of it's own. The desserts are my favorite part, the Smores Bake is to die for! The coleslaw is very "wet" compared to other coleslaw, but my boyfriend who loves coleslaw really enjoys it. It is expensive, but when you consider it's all you can eat, if you are a big eater, it's definitely worth it. I don't eat much for a meal (when I order a chicken nuggets and fries at Disneyland I rarely finish the fries) so for us, it's a waste of money.

Rule of thumb... when in America, assume "pies" means sweet like dessert not savory. Unless it says "pot pies" which are almost always savory.

Will do on the pies part.
Thanks for the info on the BBQ. I'm torn. I am no longer a big eater. I may not be able to eat any of it since my op. my friends son is always hungry but a fussy eater. I'm going to have to think about it. I have never tried cornbread. Thanks also for the tip about the wings

Suddenly I want to escort you through the wonderful and sometimes weird American cuisine. LOL. And trust me, I've had mince meat pie and haggus and bangers and mash and spotted... you know. America has some weird (but tasty!) food.

Pigs feet is not one of them. Weird yes. Tasty, no.

The Big Thunder Ranch BBQ could be a great value as it is all you care to eat. It is an outdoor only seating arrangement on picnic tables with food served in buckets and bowls and drinks in mason glasses. Lunch includes BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken, vinegar style cole slaw, ranch beans, and corn bread. This comes in for adults $23.99 and kids 3 to 9 for $11.99. For dinner they add smoked sausage to the meat bucket and Corn cob pinwheels to the sides. The dinner pricing is $26.99 and the children's price is the same as lunch. You can request one type of meat if you have a preference and they do have a vegetarian option at both lunch and dinner. My family preferred the ribs over the chicken, and when we went we ended up eating a couple of rounds of them. For the price, this may only be a good option if you intend to dig in to several rounds and really take advantage of the all you care to eat. We no longer can eat to this extent at one meal, so for us it is not a workable park option.

That sounds like it would be fun.
i don't remember much that I ate last time I was in LA. I know my mum and I were on a tight budget. I remember some sort of sandwich ( which surprised us as it came with salad and fries), a huge plum for one lunch, refried beans(yuck), a smushed Twinkie, and sharing a continental breakfast.
the funniest memory was handing my mum my coke (she hated coke), while I went to get more film. I came back and half of it was gone. It had a different taste, so she liked it. I found I didn't like Australian coke after that.
now I want to try pork rinds, where do you find them. I also want to try a bear claw (which I'm going to go google as my ex used to talk about them. Also any other things I should try?
    Thanks again

Not in the park food so you'd need a car, but be sure to try In N Out Burger if you can. Best burgers ever.

That's a matter of opinion, White Castle rocks compared to In N Out Burger. In N Out Burger is considered "barf burger" at our house.

I second In-n-Out burger!! Delicious and a California staple (even though it's becoming a nationwide chain in the US). If you haven't had one, I highly recommend you enjoy a Disneyland churro for a sweet snack.
