Voices Of Liberty Final performance April 7

The Voices of Liberty will soon end their nearly 1 year run at Disneyland, their contract did not get extended. Their final show will be on April 7th. This was told to me by the CMs at The Opera House

I know an Opera House Lead who told me Opera House daily visitor counts barely budged with them in there, and they aren't cheap. The Golden Zephyr is getting double the daily visitors than the Opera House does, for a fraction of the cost.

Aw. I thought they are a lovely edition. I am glad I got to see them a few times.

It's really a shame. I really enjoyed them. I understand that they aren't getting the crowds, but I really feel that the live entertainment really adds something special to the park. I hope they won't use this as an excuse to start doing away with live entertainment on that smaller scale.

They are a fabulous group and we always stop by for a listen. Very sad that so many folks don't appreciate the real talent and music they present. Nice place to relax and be patriotic...something many don't appreciate anymore.

    They will be missed!!!

I was hoping to see them in May. We enjoyed them when we were in Florida several years ago and were looking forward to seeing them in Disneyland.

I agree that they added a lot to the already fantastic Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. It is sad that they weren't drawing traffic, and I agree with other posters that the element of live entertainment adds a lot of life to the parks. It always breaks my heart when live entertainment gets cut.

Maybe they should perform by the Golden Zephyr...

I only got a chance to see them once, but did they do the same exact show every time? If so, changing it up a little might have helped. Plus, people probably didn't want to feel obligated to sit through Great Moments every single time they wanted to watch VoL. Too bad they can't perform in the lobby like they do at the American Adventure at Epcot.

The show was the same each time I saw it (about 3 times). I definitely would have gone more often if it wasn't the exact same show every time. It's a longish show and it just got stale, even though the voices are lovely and the songs are great.

This is exactly the issue as far as I'm concerned. Too bad they aren't able to measure how they would draw without that extra commitment hanging around people's necks.

They have about 3 different shows. 16-17 numbers in all. I agree that it has to do mostly with the commitment to a 30+ minute show as the previous posters said. They did break the attendance record for a single show since in the entire existence of the theater.

Opera House CMs are advising all guest who feel that they should stay to go to city hall and voice their concern. Many guest have been able to do that, also without VOL, the Opera House will require less CMs to run it meaning hours will be cut and all cast need all the work hours they can get their hands on. So for those of you who feel that the VOL should stay, please voice your concern over to City Hall ASAP
