Imagine if they made a WHOLE inside land called Oz where there were shops, restaurants, some kids rides and a Big E ticket ride...much better then making some D ticket ride smushed into Disneyland
    Yes.

They do say the third time's the charm

Let's hope if a third park is announced, it will be a wonderful addition considering DCA was...well...an ugly duckling that transformed into a beautiful (or semi) Swan after a huge makeover and improvement project...I wonder what the working title would be...

It's just non existent in Disneyland. It was one thing for Walt to want to do something "Oz" when it was 1956 ... and there was room to add stuff. Not the case now - in 2013!

Meanwhile .... over in a block of land just across the street from Garden Walk......
Well I mean I'd still be up for an Ironman ride because I don't think Ironman needs more then that....but Oz is a city and potential for a whole land

Though at this point I can wait for an Ironman ride at a third park...but I would not be sad to see it take over Inntoventions either

Could you imagine if Disney did build a third park? The park icon could be The Emerald City.

True. But an Wizard of Oz/Marvel/Star Wars park doesn't really seem to have an overall theme. "Throweverythingatthewall Park".

Eh, to be perfectly honest the Universal approach of "everything and the kitchen sink" works for them because that's always been their MO. Their parks have less unified themes and more individual experiences lumped together in a shared location.

Disney, however, is known for theming above almost everything else. That's part of the reason why DHS is one of their most disappointing and thematically broken parks, because it has no idea what its theme is.

If Disneyland Resort gets a third gate it needs to have a unified theme, and if there's a place for Oz, Marvel, Star Wars, whatever in that park, than that's great, but the theme absolutely should not be "leftover properties we own that don't really fit in those other two parks."

This is maybe why the Imagineers don't have any good ideas for a third gate. Or at least I've yet to hear any good proposals.

ORWEN: (singing to the tune of 'Over the Rainbow') Somewhere on past the turnstyles--way back there--is a section of land for Oz themes we all can share. Somewhere on past the castle Oscar 'digs'; building magical places--even a witch's lair. Some day we'll skip down yellow bricks while watching wizard's magic tricks around us! Where happy little Munchkins roam and Quadlings open up their homes before us! Somewhere on past the turnstyles monkey's fly! Monkey's fly past the turnstyles...why, then, oh why can't I?

Well, all we could be getting from OZ is a replacement dance party for DCA. Like ElecTRONica with the electronic synthesizers and ravers, and currently the Mad T Party with the Punk Rock Band(?), OZ would probably be playing ragtime and some sort of jazz, or Waltz music.
