Re: Non-Disney attractions that belong in Disneyland?

Why do we assume Disney's priority would have been Orlando? It used to be Universal's weaker property, no?

I'm just assuming that if Potter went anywhere it would have been WDW simply because there's more room to work with.

Re: Non-Disney attractions that belong in Disneyland?

I'd have been interested to see what Disney did with Potter merely, as they'd likely go all out for a huge new area - granted, Universal's area by all accounts is a solid win and lots of texture, detail, so they were likely the right choice. Disney would have absolutely used it in more crass ways to upsell, I do not doubt, but when they put their mind to it can create amazing attractions also. But that's all 'what could have been'.

As for seasonal entertainment, I wish Disneyland would do actual walk-through attractions for Halloween a la Knott's or HHN (less graphic and intense, of course), which Hong Kong Disneyland does (the Main Street Haunted Hotel, a jungle-themed one in Adventureland, alien spaceship in TL, Oswald's Traveling Sideshow featuring the Headless Horseman character.) I'd love to see that stateside.

Orlando is Disney's weaker property as well. If you don't count Paris.

Although I've never been there, it looks like Efteling in the Netherlands has a lot of that magic and charm that the Disney theme parks used to epitomise. Particularly this attraction:

That was cool. If it was at Disney, it would probably be one of my favorite attractions.

Love Efteling. What a beautiful entry to a beautiful dark ride. No movie tie ins, just lot's of charm.
