Oz - In World of Color??? So I have an idea and I wanted to share it with you all. What if Disney decided to replace the extended Pirates scene in World of Color with and Oz the Great and Powerful scene? I'm thinking of a giant fountain in the center and a few flames around it to re-create the Floating Head scene from the movie? I think this would be a great way to get the movie noticed in the park without building an entire land out of it....

I vote no and honestly I would be happy to lose the pirates scene as well.
I'm actually surprised they haven't tried to promote it in WOC already. It was a good film, but not great. Although I did like the former Pirates segment, I think WOC works better with the animated films as opposed to the live action.
How long is the Pirates scene anyways?
Nevermind. I'm thinking like a quick sort scene not like 5 mins or anything...

Actually, yes. I can see this working, based on the trailers I've seen. There's lots of color and the way the movie starts would be really cool as a pre-show experience.
There was some talk about adding an "I See The Light" segment from Steve Davison. Wonder when that's going to come to fruition
No thank you. The movie was ok, but not great. I don't see a need for it in the park anywhere.

Oz makes more sense as a place for World of Color to go after the storm then Pirates ever did. Can easily see the swirl out carrying Oz's balloon into Oz and getting something with the Witches and the Flying Baboons as a lead-in to villains.

I actually think it might fit better in the air section near Aladdin or Buzz.
Either way, no. I don't wanna see it. And while we'll at it, ditch the Brave commercial, and the extended Pirates and go back to the original version with Hunchback. I miss this being the amazing show it once was.
Too bad Iger can't man up and take the risk of letting the public see Steve's original show. The director's cut. The one Iger slashed & burned when it was previewed for him.
What's Bob afraid of, that people might stop coming to DLR? That his mentor Michael might call him up and chew him out for not keeping WoC an advertisement for a hodgepodge of movies and brands?
The buzz on Steve's original cut was that it was exciting, moving and altogether awesome.
Sad. Like so many of the other spineless creative decisions that are foisted on the DLR, just sad.

Although I agree that Oz the Great and Powerful wasn't the best movie I have ever seen, I thought it was very well done for what they were trying to do as a prequel to the Wizard of Oz. I asked myself that same World of Color question the last time I was in DCA. Frankly (pun intended), I think it would work better as a encore sequence instead of being part of the reguar show. Or perhaps as an introductory sequence similiar to Prep and Landing. But with the Wizard's floating head.
