I'm guessing you didn't read the full PR:

And you will even be able to virtually “suit up,” yourself! Through simulation technology, guests will be able to see what it’s like to operate the latest pieces of the Mark 42 Iron Man armor, even getting the chance to test out its infamous repulsor blasts

Cool, so this is basically an interactive movie promo? I'd rather Disney do more things like this instead of showing movie trailers in the Muppets theater. It's something you can't just easily substitute on Youtube

on one hand, i really did not want marvel to come to the parks. however, i will take this temporary exhibit as a sign that they're not planning any permanent marvel attractions. at least that's what i'm hoping...

No, sure didn't. Still don't get it. Maybe if they let me try on a real suit with real blasters! But I'm sure there are lots of Marvel fans who will love it. Just the same as I would love an exhibit of Princess Dresses through the decades, especially if I could virtually see myself in them.

How would one 'virtually' suit up? Your head on a video-game style body on a big screen? Superimposing the suit on an image of you? Green screen suit? Or do they just mean a fancy video game where you shoot a blaster at a screen? Seeing HOW they do it might be interesting.

Interesting news. But this is nothing new for Disneyland. They had something similar to this when 20,000 Under The Sea came out. One thing I wish I saw at Innoventions was the video conferencing they had with Stitch a few years ago. Wouldn't it be cool if they had something similar where guests can talk to Jarvis?

I remember seeing that Stitch feature, probably the coolest thing I have seen in Innoventions for a long time. What made the Stitch thing even better was realizing years later it was actually Research and Development, paving the way for Turtle Talk and Monsters Inc Laugh Floor.

Maybe the virtual Iron Man suit experience is another R&D project? Maybe WDI's Cave Technology (the psuedo-holodeck thing used in designing Cars Land) is about to leave the office and enter the parks?

As someone else has stated I think this is Disneyland testing the market to see what kind of foot traffic something like this can create. If deemed successful then you could be certain that as the exhibit is taken out Innoventions will go dark and the Stark Expo will start construction. If it isn't successful then...at least it was something different than the lousy out of date tech they have in there today.

oooohhhh nooooo here comes the big bad Marvel Monster! Run and hide!

Gotta say, I've never been more excited to check out Innovations. IRON MAN'S AWESOME! Still though, wish they were turning the entire facility into Stark Expo.

The consensus here seems spot on: this is killing two birds with one stone for Disney. On the one hand they're continuing to get the word out for what will potentially be their biggest money maker this year, and they're also testing the waters for how guests react to Marvel exhibits in the park, specifically in Tomorrowland.

I know there are some people dead against the idea of Marvel in the parks, but I think this will be something that's at least worth paying a quick visit to Innoventions for (something I can't say about many exhibits that have existed there over the past 15 years) and if reception is positive I would be more than happy to see them move forward with the proposed Star Expo attraction.

The title of the thread got me excited for a second there. I will reserve judgement for now until it actually opens in Innoventions.
