    1968 Disneyland Hotel

Here is some beautiful concept art for the 1968 announcement of a new tower and new convention facilities slated for the Disneyland Hotel. As a special bonus to this artwork is a newspaper clipping using the concept art and actually marked up by long-time Disneyland Hotel architect Kurt Weber. Thank you Kathy Weber for sharing your father's memories. He was a tremendous part of why the Disneyland Hotel was so successful. Hope this helps in preserving his memory.

Fascinating and fantastic! Thank you for sharing such beautiful artwork. Really beautifully designed. Did the "sea circus" ever become a reality?

My family always wanted to stay there but could never afford it. It is still a dream of mine even though it has dramatically changed.

Some interesting items from the start of the Marina Tower construction also thanks to Kathy Weber.

Here is the Wrather Corporation annual report for 1969. These reports had some fantastic facts and figures regarding all of the company assets including the Disneyland Hotel.

I imagine the logistics of that would have been quite extensive and expensive.

Cool. I love this rendering because it is one of the few views of the water elements which once surrounded the Sierra a tower like a moat. Thank you.

I'm interested in the water under the monorail track, did that ever exist?

There are quite a few things in the concept art that never made it to reality and water under the Monorail was one of them. There are also a couple of pools in the rendering that were never built.
