I've been told if you can't smell it and no one complains let them be. But reading in here it seems everyone has their own rules about it
I think the main point about e-cigs is since there isn't an obvious way to show the general public you aren't smoking a real cigarette therefore you should probably treat it like one.
If I owned a business I would group e-cigs with real ones unless they came out with a obvious way to tell everyone it's not a real cigarette like a starter pistol with a orange cap. It's a lot to ask CMs to distinguish between the real ones and the vapor ones. Also allowing vaporing to happen all over the park would also send the wrong message to people who have real cigarettes.
I actually use e-cigs since I used to smoke but here is what I do. i don't use them in Disneyland. it's a personal choice though I wouldn't enforceit on anyone.
I don't see the problem. Out of respect I step off to the side and use mine. I would never use it in line or right in front of a child. That's common courtesy which i guess the majority dont have. As long as u do this u shouldn't have a problem. There is no smoke admitted so it shouldn't be a problem. Unless Disney adds a vapor inhaling section or formally addresses they shouldn't expect people to not inhale wherever they please. And about the children I'm sure they encounter more real smokers or drunk people at the mad t party or lovers over doing the PDA.
Unless Disney... ...formally addresses they shouldn't expect people to not inhale wherever they please.
It is formally addressed. There is no smoking except in designated areas. It says so on the tram spiel. They don't call out specifically what shouldn't be smoked, they just say no smoking. Whether it is smoking a pipe, a cigar, a cigarette, a hookah, or an e-cig it is a blanket no smoking. I don't think they could make it any clearer and less ambiguous.
"You can cut me off from the civilized world. You can incarcerate me with two moronic cellmates. You can torture me with your thrice daily swill, but you cannot break the spirit of a Winchester. My voice shall be heard from this wilderness and I shall be delivered from this fetid and festering sewer."
During my last trip someone was smoking an e-cigarette ON Pirates of the Caribbean. It was weird. I was surprised when no cast members talked to him afterwards - usually they're pretty good about picking up those types of things on the cameras. But, I do agree with keeping e-cigs in smoking designated areas ... regardless if it's actually harmful to others, it's just not generally something you want to see while walking through the park.
But it's not smoking! That is where the confusion lies and a huge marketing point of the product. If it was formally addressed this thread wouldn't exist. The whole point of this product is that it is smokeless so why would a person think they have to go to a smoking section.
So once again even if you try to do the right thing and switch to an Ecig, you are wrong because of someone else's perception of your attempt to quit or reduce the harm to others and they force you into an environment of second hand smoke and toxins you have eliminated by switching to an Ecig. What about the people who chew and spit in the bushes all over the park or Cus or are rude and obnoxious or cut lines or ruin a ride for there own pleasures....The looking glass has two sides.
