Welcome to Disneyland Resort sign still offends with Pressler logo

I know that they have slowly been changing out the signage across the Resort propoerty - from the un-emotive corporate brand DISNEYland Resort logo of the Eisner/Pressler/DCA era to the classic Walt Disney era DISNEYLAND Resort logo we are again treated with today (yay, Matt!).

I'm sure it takes time to change them all, but there is one key use of the awful Pressler/Eisner logo that should really go sooner than later - - and these are the "Welcome to Disneyland Resort" signs that greet guests as they enter the property. These are still in the offending typeface and should be altered as soon as possible, IMHO. They make me momentarily scowl as I drive in... There is never a second chance to make a first impression - as the cliche goes.

Heck, the "Official" Birnbaum Guide to the Disneyland Resort for 2006, published by Disney Enterprises, Inc. (A big piece of the Walt Disney Company puzzle) is using the old style logo.

The Title of the book on the front cover, and then again on the first page, has the word "Disney" in script, followed by standard lettering for "land", and resort.

The inside back cover has a map of the resort, and they have the entire full logo, including the bear... But heck, the map still doesn't show the ToT addition, even though it was added in 2004.

I think the old sign was cut into two, in accordance with John and Rebecca's divorce settlement.

If they haven't yet, they need to change the logo on the resort-wide cash register receipt printouts too. Those meal payouts are often painful enough that we shouldn't have to wince twice by seeing the Pressler logo and ugly Wolf/Bear head!

I was surprised that the Pressler era logos were still there when I went in December.

I live 2 miles away from Disneyland if Walt would've built it at Riverside and Buena Vista.

    This is the offensive logo:

And here's the "correct" one ;-)

They also need to change the logo they have on the parking tickets and the one on top of the directory signs. Maybe they will replace the current Welcome to Disneyland Resort signs and the others when they replace the Disney's California Adventure signage by the Mickey and Friends tram area some time in 2006.

They are still working on changing the signs. It's just going to take a while. Just last week, I noticed they had changed all the trash cans at the tram loading area at the Mickey & Friends structure. They are now all green with the new Disneyland Restort logo on them. Remember before they were beige with orange trim with the logo with the bear and all.. So it's a good sign they are still changing out the logos.

I have to admit, I didn't mind the old logo. But, it will be nice to get something new, and maybe even back to the classic Disneyland font.
Marge: Barnacle Bill's Home Pregnancy Test? Homer, shouldn't we have gone with a better-known brand?
Homer: But Marge, this one came with a corn-cob pipe!
Marge: [reading from the test box] "Ahoy, Maties! If the water turns blue, a baby for you! If purple ye see, no baby thar be!"
Homer: So, which is it? Blue or purple?
    Marge: Pink.
    Homer: D'oh!
Marge: "If ye test should fail, to a doctor set sail!"

    Bring back the old one!!
