A Plea To Stop Saying "Andy's Coming"

    Found this on Tumblr

The ‘Andy’s Coming!’ thing about Toy Story characters at Disney parks has gone viral. This is a very bad thing because it IS NOT TRUE. They will NOT collapse/freeze whatever if someone says Andy is coming.

This is becoming a real problem at the parks because now someone yells ‘Andy’s coming’ around the TS characters an average of every 8-10 minutes, nonstop all day. They will not do what that stupid viral post states they will! Why? Not only can it damage the multi-thousand dollar costumes but it’s also unsafe for the performer and the guests around them. They likely wouldn’t even even be able to get back up due to the weight and limits of the costumes. The castmembers can be fired if they actually do this.

At Disneyland today a guest assaulted Buzz when he did not collapse/freeze when that damnable phrase was yelled yet again. I was informed of this by a friend in the character department. The department is sick of it and it’s quite possible that the TS characters may taken out of commission until the fad passes.

Please repost the ever-lasting **** out of this post so the stupidity can stop.
I really hope this fad doesn't force Disney to pull these characters for a while...

Technically they are not Andy's toys anymore so it would be correct if they don't freeze

I wonder if Disney will take away the "Andy's Coming" segment of Mr. Potato on TSMM?

"Andy's coming!" is the Disney park equivalent of planking. It's a lame trend that needs to die.

I actualy did something similar. The kid in front of me yelled those infamous words and I quickly yelled back to him, "No he's not! He's in college!" I got many laughs from my friends and even the father of the child

I don't think this is going to be a big deal, enough to have the characters pulled. People will say it and as long as the people playing Woody and other TS characters don't react then it will stop. I would like to see an actual video taped with week that actually shows people yelling it over and over again to see how intense it is but I really don't think it is that intense right now to have them pulled. I guess I have to see it to believe it.

I'm concerned about the CM who was assaulted. I hope that he is OK and I certainly hope his attacker was arrested. Does anyone know what happened there?

Re: A Plea To Stop Saying "Andy's Coming"

Are people actually do this often enough that it's an issue? Passing it around on the internet is harmless enough. I'm sure if it doesn't get a positive response in the parks it will die off.

While we're on the subject, can anyone breifly explain to an old fart like me what young people find so amusing about things like planking, taylor swifting, and everything else I saw being made fun of on South Park? From the outside looking in it seems to me like you guys are just hopelessly bored. And if you are bored, is there anything we can do to help you not be bored?

They could go to Disneyland! Oh, wait, that won't work. Kids go to Disneyland once a month now, just to keep the parents from having to interact with their children, so now even a visit to Disneyland isn't entertaining enough. People have to come up with a prank like "Andy's Coming!" or saying the Haunted Mansion spiel to impress the tourists or dressing up in "Look at ME!" vintage clothing to keep from being bored while inside Disneyland. Welcome to the 21st Century.
