Re: The New Princess To Recieve a New Dress Is...............

I wonder why they always went with the Pink one and not the Blue one, doesn't she wear the blue one throughout the majority of the movie?

From my understanding, and please take this with a grain of salt, I think it maybe the fact that Cinderella is in blue and it's to not confuse the average guest.

She always wears the blue dress in Paris except for the parade.

Yeah I've hear the same story as you with the color dress and Cinderella's as well with Aurora.

    That makes sense.

I loved the Cinderella and Belle makeovers, but this one isn't quite as good. The sleeves, in particular, don't really go with the medieval flavor of the rest of the dress.

I do like the new crown and collar, and the pleating on the skirt.

Re: The New Princess To Recieve a New Dress Is...............

I always identified Princess Aurora with her dress with the pointy shoulders. Without that distinctive feature, this new dress is a complete fail. Also, it looks like there is only one shade of pink in the new dress, where it really requires at least two or three shades of pink along with the ivory.

If they had to go with a different look, they should have her dress like Briar Rose, for a change of pace.

Re: The New Princess To Recieve a New Dress Is...............

ORDDU: Now I DO see two shades of pink in the new dress. Granted it's more subtle than the former dress was. But it's also more accurate to what she wore in the animated film. As a side note, my sisters and I were reading an article about the making of Sleeping Beauty a while back which explained why Aurora's dress kept changing colors in the film. Supposedly the animators couldn't come to an agreement as to which color the dress should be. Some wanted it blue while others wanted it to be pink. So they compromised by creating a plot in the script that would mean the dress kept changing colors throughout the storyline. It turned out to be a brilliant little detail.

ORWEN: I like it pink best since so many other Disney gals area already dressed in blue. It helps Aurora to stand out more when she's in pink.

    ORGOCH: Got rose colored glasses?

I have to admit that I am liking the new, more realistic interpretation of the dresses. I think this is another success.

Yes! And I am a strong advocate for the blue dress, I wear a blue version to the Halloween Party every year. I do think this dress is much better than the previous one, that one just made the cast member look heavy with all the bulky fabric. I do think the shoulders should be more pointy, but perhaps they're just trying to steer the dresses in a direction of a real life gown you can wear, rather than a costume, if that makes sense. I give it a thumbs up!

My opinion after seeing all three new looks.
Cinderella, not as nice as the old.
Belle, just as good if not better.

Aurora, Looks much better in person than in the photos. especially the crown.
Dress is not nearly as heavy looking as the old. Over all, just as good as the old.
