Re: So what makes you "Happy" at the Disneyland Resort?

The smell of popcorn and then eating some to recharge my batteries.
Getting over a million on BLAB.
My two boys happily searching for our brick outside of Disneyland.
The way the Tower of Terror looks at night.
Going on Soarin' with someone who has never been on it before, even if it is a stranger.
The front car of Screamin' or Space Mountain.
Going on Splash Mountain at night with my family in our own log and being able to stay on because there is no one in line.
Getting dessert at Pooh Corner and then eating it on a bench in that quiet part of the park at night.

Agreed with Stormy. Once you just walk through the turnstile you realize you are not "out there" and you're in the park. Really, that's enough for some of us.

My 8-year-old has a serious anxiety issue, along with other special needs. When she gets there, and she's so excited she can't stop talking, and is literally shaking, it always brings a tear. I'm really going to miss it when we let our passes expire. I may start them back up after a year or two.

First view of Main Street. Walking hand-in-hand with my kids. The blow of a steam whistle. Everything else.

    Ok, there are sooo many. Here we go;

The flowers, music, food, parades, rides, characters, fantas mic, fireworks and too many more to list. But, I have to say my number one favorite about Disneyland is the feeling I get walking down Main Street. I get a bit teary eyed when that happens the very first day of our trips.

Re: So what makes you "Happy" at the Disneyland Resort?

    Overall, the atmosphere
-The sights such as the beautiful Haunted Mansion facade, Buena Vista Street, Cadillac Range in Cars Land, the Rivers of America, the battle scene in Pirates
-The sounds of the howling Yeti, the Mark Twain's whistle, the rattling queue chains, the dismal Haunted Mansion foyer music, the on ride music of California Screamin
-The smells of churro, popcorn, baked goods, Pirates water, entry room of Star Tours
-The feelings of grasping the handle bar on Space Mountain, of getting wet on Splash Mountain, of taking hold of the steering wheel on Autopia and IJA.
-The taste of the yummy Disneyland popcorn and corn dog

The new DCA is part of the Disneyland Resort, and I had many happy memories there on my last trip to California.

Happiness is riding the Fun Wheel at night.

Riding the new Red Car trolley.

    Meeting Officer Blue and Molly.

Riding Radiator Racers for the very first time.

Viewing Cars Land for the first time, and seeing the Neon all lit up at night in Radiator Springs.

Exploring Bugsland for the very first time was a happy happy time.

How can one not be happy watching the Aladdin Show with all that talent shining through.

    Same here!

I'm 56, and it's one of the few places where I can be 12 again. Not a care in the world, just enjoying the park.

    Nostalgia. Nostalgia. Nostalgia.

Life can be really stressful, but as soon as I'm at Disneyland, I'm a kid again. Then there's the added bonus of taking actual children to the park for the first time and seeing their eyes light up in the same way mine did when I was a kid. So nostalgia and tradition make me happy.

Re: So what makes you "Happy" at the Disneyland Resort?

Today really reminded me why I love Disneyland so much and why the park makes me happy. I was in a very depressed, bad mood in the morning but since I had the day off from work and wanted to see the Long Lost Friends event and the new Fantasy Faire, I made myself go out to DLR. As soon as I was there - I was smiling. Watching Figaro in the FF, seeing the characters at Big Thunder Ranch interact and seeing a family of ducks (real ones) on the grass - smiling more. Going on Space Mountain and flying through space, going in the Haunted Mansion, going on Splash and sharing a log with a family who was doing the ride for the first time ever - more smiles.

That's what it is all about for me: being there.
