Re: So what makes you "Happy" at the Disneyland Resort?

Being at the resort makes me happy. Everything else makes me ecstatic
There is no right or wrong in this debate. It is simply a matter of perspective.

    Well besides everything ...

For me it starts with the anticipation in weeks leading up. Finally when I get there the rush of excitement from standing outside the gate doing my best Mervyn's "Open! Open! Open!" Impression.

Passing through the tunnel and trying to do a Notre Dame pat on the Plaque above the archway.

Going up Main St and seeing it all.

Hitting that first ride in Fantasyland in the morning with no one else on it.

Chocolate chunk cookies from by Winnie the Pooh.

    Dinner at Rancho del Zocallo.

    Watching my kids getting excited.

Doing the drop in POTC that I HATED as a kid.

    Just a few

Its totally those little snippets in time when you feel all alone in the park. Closing it down as a teenager with my best friend dragging our feet to the front gates. A late night pass through by big thunder mt., the last night ride on the mark twain all alone, a late night ride on the train.
Also so true the smell of pirates. Memories of splurging as a teen for a churro one day and a nestle crunch ice cream bar the other.
I love billy hill, goofy and silly but still love it no matter how many times we've seen it.
Of course the jungle cruise! I could ride that thing a million times, and I know all the jokes but the anticipation of hearing them re told is just so stupidly fantastic!
I haven't been in about 10 years, I am so pumped to be taking my 2 little boys for their first trip in May. My older is turning 4 while we're there and my little will be about 20 months. I was worried about taking young ones, but am getting so excited about it as the days pass and I think of my first magical visit and what they'll experience.

I love reading all the answers to my question. I find myself smiling, and agreeing with so many of the things that people are posting.
