I know that there was plenty of coverage regarding the removal of the DL Hotel name/signage (thanks again to all that posted), but did they ever replace it? Or is it still missing from the rooftop?
Just wondering...

Anaheim City sign codes no longer allow Roof Signs, that is why it was removed, and will not be replaced.

Thanks. Sorry to hear that.
We'll look for you on sunday at the red carpet event. This time we'll say hi! (we saw you last Thanksgiving with the turkeys, but you looked too busy to say hi to)
I stayed at the dlh last weekend and did not even miss or notice the signage was missing.....the hotel looked great.
We'll be there this w/e for the B-day events. Upon check-in, I'll be sure and mention that we miss the signage.
How can Anaheim change the rules after the signage has been there for so many years??? I can see it for new construction, but not forcing businesses to remove what has been there for years already.
Maybe there is more to the story...
You actually have it right, for the most part.Originally Posted by PirateMickey

But as part of the negotations between the city and Disney in regards to the improvements that were going to be made (and paid for) by the city, this is one of their requests (which is common in general when someone or some company wants to make inprovements, the city asks for the area/building(s) to agree to the current city codes, and give up its right to be grandfathered).
Disney agreed to it for a few reasons, one was all the things the city was going to do, but the second is the fact that NO ONE else can have roof signs, and with DCA's sight lines, that was important.
As part of the deal, Disney got the right to keep the signs up until 12/31/2005. That is why they were removed in Mid-December. (The deal was made in the 90's)
