    Honorary Window for Annette?

I think a case could/should be made for Annette Funicello to receive an honorary window on Main Street. Her work not only in the park for the Mickey Mouse Club circus but also her promotion of the park through the MMC and other avenues deserves recognition.

    Any thoughts?

I nice sentiment, but I think the windows should be reserved for more direct involvement with the parks.

She has had a wonder influenced on the parks. I would like to see them do something like make her an honoree Disneyland Ambassador to the world like Julie Andrews.

I don't know if the window is quite appropriate. I am in agreement with Lazyboy on that. But they could include her picture in the room leaving Mr. Lincoln, or perhaps designate a special plaque for her and the other original Mouseketeers either in Fantasyland or Toontown.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

It isn't unprecedented for someone without "direct involvement" in the creation of the park to receive a window. I seem to remember Fess Parker got one in Frontierland. I think she's had just as much an impact as he had. I would say a window in Fantasyland but that might seem out of place because that land does not have proprietorships.

I just pulled these words by Matt Ouimet from Fess Parkers dedication ceremony...
"In his role as Davy Crockett, Fess Parker helped promote and open Disneyland and through the years he has become a very special member of the Disney family.”

I think if you replaced Fess Parker in that sentence with Annette not many would argue she had much less of an impact.

If they are going to change out a picture in the Mr. Lincoln it should be the Hanna Montana one. Annette would fit perfectly there in the entertainment section.

Fess Parker was the star of what was likely the most famous segment of Disneyland.

I was under the impression that Walt's TV shows in the 50s ("Disneyland" and "The Mickey Mouse Club") were directly related to raising the money to build Disneyland. Since Annette was one of the breakout stars supporting the MMC -- to the extent of getting her own serial titled "Walt Disney Presents: Annette" -- I think that's close enough.

Spin and Marty? No window. But Annette, yes.

I think there's still a reference to Annette in the queue area of the the Muppets 3-D, but I would definitely think a Main Street Window ought to be considered for her.

I agree with this. Having been a big fan of Annette and the other Mouseketeers as a kid, and as saddened as I am at her passing, I have to say she was not connected with Disneyland, beyond occasional appearances with the other Mouseketeers at special events and the short-lived Mickey Mouse Club Circus. As lazyboy970 notes above, there is no parallel between her connection to Disneyland and that of Fess Parker.
