I agree. A disaster big enough to destroy the DLR would also take huge numbers of lives, destroy unimaginable amounts of property and infrastructure, and shatter the economy of the entire region for a long period of time. It would be a national, as well as regional, mega-disaster. I think one of the lesser things on the list of high priority worries would be "what about Disneyland."

Well if a disaster destroyed Disneyland, surely Disney Studios would be affected as well? Maybe there would be no Disney as we know it...

Maybe Disney should invest in energy shielding to protect their investments.

DisneyIPresume, imagine a sinkhole opened up at 3 am and all the night crew miraculously made it out alive...

Maybe they would just rebuild on the site of Nara Dreamland in Japan?

If it were a natural disaster on that scale, I'd have to think LA would no longer be on the map. If it was done by evil men, it would become a national monument, IMO.

That is what Insurance is for.

Though I'm sure the current management would cut every corner in the rebuilding possible.

If Universal stayed in one piece, then I would be suspicious...

On a serious note, they would proberly rebuild, as it brings in tourism. That would be an awsome project tracker!
The new Star Wars plot summery:

Episode 7: Luke discovers that Darth Vader is not his father, and goes on a search for his real father

Episode 8: Darth Vader is resurrected and goes on Jerry Springer, claiming he is Luke and Leia's father

Episode 9: Princes Leia is not Luke's sister, making him furious (we all know why...).

Re: What if Disneyland was destroyed?

    Would it be rebuilt?

Yes. It may be gone but it still sits in the original property.

How would it change American culture?

    Maybe

What would the reaction be like?

    EVERYONE would mourn

Big news story? (I hope it would be)

No doubt about it. It's the park that revolutionized all theme parks across the globe. Not to mention, it's the original.
