    Are the rides open?

I didn't really feel like reading through 259 comments on the recent ride closures thread Are they open or do you know when they will be open?

    Thanks!

    Re: Are the rides open?

the other thread has basically devolved into personal attacks and "dosh is great" vs "dosh sucks" so yeah let's make this one focused solely on the rides status!

as far as i know, space mtn is the one that is likely to be closed for a long time, and it's "under refurbishment" on the DL website up through may 27th (last day on the calendar so its quite possible it might be out of commission well past that.

ORGOCH: Yeah, I don't like none a them personal attacks topics, my own dang self. So I'll just stay right here 'til somebody gives out the facts without no more belly-achin'.

ORWEN: Me, too. I mean, everybody knows it's not Disneyland's fault that those DOSH people came in and closed down some of the rides!

ORGOCH: Not so fast, sister! I been sayin' fer YEARS that Dizzyland management ain't up ta snuff when it comes ta obeyin' the rules! I ain't the least bit surprised ta hear Dizzyland management may have ta cough up a whole lot a money ta pay fer this latest mess they's in!

ORWEN: And to think you call yourself a DISNEY fan, you nasty old biddy! How dare you take the wrong side on this topic!!!

ORGOCH: Go blow yer DOM horn somewhere's else, why don'tcha?

    ORWEN: What's DOM horn?

ORGOCH: It means Defender Of Mediocrity, dummy!! That's what ya have ta be if'n yer gonna' defend Dizzyland management over this mess!

ORWEN: Oh yeah? Well, I say it's high time you turned in your mouse ears if you're not willing to stand behind the main MOUSE!!!

ORGOCH: I ain't NEVER stood behind no dang mouse! But I might just STEP on it if it don't git outta the way!

(Sounds of violent struggling and crashes and smashes....)

ORDDU: So, anyway, ducklings...aren't you glad we can just discuss this matter much more calmly than they are doing on that other topic thread???

I have always appreciated your sense of humor.

On a serious note to the OP, I can recommend two resources:

    1) Go to Disney's website and look at the calendar. Scroll down to the bottom and look for "Closed for Refurbishment." Here's today's link; it may be invalid tomorrow. Daily Calendar | Disneyland Resort

    2) If you have a smart phone download the "Mouse Wait" app. It'll tell you what rides are closed as well as wait times as they change. It's a handy tool if you're in the park and a ride that was open a minute ago just closed.

Also, beware that the current schedule of closed rides may not be accurate. It presently says Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, the Mr. Lincoln Opera House and the Mark Twain are down but according to the evening news tonight it said that Space Mountain, the Matterhorn and Soarin' are also going to be closed thanks to some OSHA action that closed them and levied a fine against Disneyland. Something to do with the unlicensed contractor who fell down the side of Space Mountain a few months ago. ( Thanks for ruining it for everyone, pal! )

Also, the Zoo offers a similar service at the entry gate.

    Strangely, me too. LOL.

Me: "Yes. It happened after a recent trip to Neverland."

From everything I heard about the new and improved Matterhorn, I really wish it was Space Mountain that had reopened!

Disneyland's website has Space Mountain down for refurbishment, but Soarin' is not listed.
