Red Face Friend found a "1-Day Youth Fun" ticket from 2002. Interesting...

A friend of mine was digging through some of her old stuff and found a ticket stub. It's a "1-Day Youth Fun" ticket, good for one day at one park only. It cost $29, and according to the ticket stub, once purchased it was valid from 1/2/02 to 12/19/??, excluding some blockout dates. Good for ages 3-18 only.

According to Wikipedia, the adult ticket price back then was $45. Is this some sort of promo thing that they don't do anymore?

I will post pictures pending permission of my friend.

I don't remember the exact prices, but if that's accurate, a jump from $45 to what it is now in only 10 years is pretty excessive, in my opinion.

Wasn't an adult one park ticket like $55 or $65 in 2005? That was the first time I took my now husband to disneyland and the first time I had to buy my own tickets and not my parents. I was in shock lol... now look at the prices

That is one of the group sales programs for tickets. It's still around.

Look it all up on Disney Youth Programs Talk about some amazing prices if you can get a group to meet the requirements.

Let's not forget that in the early to mid 2000's that travel was extremely on the low due to September 11th. The price maybe up now, but so is attendance.

A $45 adult ticket in 2002 would've cost $58.23 in today's money, according to inflation adjustments.

Wow. What a great find! If it doesn't have an expiration year, it is probably still valid. How interesting to compare the prices! Thanks for sharing.

Seems pretty limited by those blackout dates, so not really a normal ticket to Disney. Do they still do this? Sell specific date tickets?

I remember this tickets quite well! These "fun" tickets were sold as a seasonal promotion at Lucky and Ralphs stores. Essentially, they were cheaper tickets for locals to fill the parks on really quiet days. Back then, the off-season was seriously off-season, so they would use promotions like these to fill the park.

At this time, the SoCal pass was $99 too, and they hadn't yet started up the SoCal Select pass.

    Ahh, memories.

Oh, it does have an expiration year, I just couldn't see it in the pics. According to my friend it expired 12/19/02.
