What's the name of the film? Or is this from someone's home movies?

There should be a sticky thread called "This Day in Disney History." The company has a long history and this would be a good way to acknowledge it. Walt was born 112 years ago; that's quite a chunk of American history and culture.

"Disneyland Hotel-For the Time of Your Life" is the title and it's an internally produced film used to entice people to stay at the Disneyland Hotel. This was created and produced by the A/V staff at the Hotel in the early 70's. It also features other local attractions like Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Japanese Village, Universal Studios and other Southern California tourist attractions. I have this footage as well as the footage that was used on the closed-circuit channel 6 at the Disneyland Hotel used to show individual Hotel amenities like restaurants, golfing, recreation, etc. Would you like to see some stills from that one as well?

I am still in the process of capturing stills from this footage and will share those just as soon as time permits.

Thank you for taking the time to capture and post these...they bring back a lot of memories. My wife and I spent our honeymoon in the "Honeymoon Suite" at the Disneyland Hotel in 1974. I have some pictures of the hotel that I'll try to scan and post. That said, I'd love to see ANYTHING you're willing to post here regarding the footage you have.

    Regards,
    John

After Disney let the Queen Mary management go did they have to return the Queen Mary Propeller? That would be fantastic at Tokyo Disney Seas near American Waterfront and the 1912 Columbia which resembles the 1936 3 funnel Queen Mary.

That's a great question and to be honest, I don't know. I only know when it arrived I can't imagine shipping something that big and heavy to Tokyo. The process just to get it from Long Beach to Anaheim required intense logistics.

Now THIS is the DH I remember. I worked for Airport Service, the bus to LAX and OC Airports selling tickets in the booth under the monorail station, back in 1978-1980,etc. Where there's now (or did they scrap that too) "Sgt. Prestons of the Ukon" bar and grill was the "Cantina" where we'd grab a tall draft beer after work. Used to have live dance bands in there too. I walk around downtown Disney now and I'm in the Twilight Zone. They stucco'd over my ticket booth and raised the floor level to where the monorail pilons look shorter. I miss my old job. Just working there even if I wasn't an official "Disney employee" felt like I belonged to something great.

I just downloaded 106 more photos from this film. I'll post some noe. Now I have never seen this banner in any other picture before.

What year are these cars? These were rental cars stored onsite:

This became the Monorail Cafe in 1986.

The beach at the Disneyland Hotel.

    Great photos, thanks for sharing
The new Star Wars plot summery:

Episode 7: Luke discovers that Darth Vader is not his father, and goes on a search for his real father

Episode 8: Darth Vader is resurrected and goes on Jerry Springer, claiming he is Luke and Leia's father

Episode 9: Princes Leia is not Luke's sister, making him furious (we all know why...).

I made my first visit in 1976, so I definitely remember the hotel before the third tower was built. Phillydawg, I may have bought a ticket to LAX from you!

Re: Early 70's Disneyland Hotel Screen Shots From Film

I thought I'd try my hand at a quick and dirty fix of the color on a couple of those screenshots:

    Name: Capture65_zps184c6d27a.jpg
Views: 97
Size: 177.5 KB

    Name: Capture96_zps228f6786a.jpg
Views: 95
Size: 145.3 KB

I chose these frames because they each have both yellow and red in them, which for me made it easier to understand how the colors have been distorted.
