As exciting, immersive and fun as Monstropolis or Halloween Town would be, they don't have a place in Disney CALIFORNIA Adventure.

Personally I can see a few ways a Mystic Mannor type ride could be added to DCA. The first would be more or less a port to DCA ripping out the Redwood Creek Challenge as the OP mentioned, and I think that would fit a bit better than some random house at the pier.

The e-ticket attraction can be behind California Screamin and the queue could have a fortune teller quarter machine they said something about this at d23 but I'm not sure
This is more like what I can see working at the pier, and I hope it happens. Even if they don't go for a trackless ride system, and go for the omnimover, DCA needs something to suck people in a bit better given CarsLand, and any possible "phase 2" they may have. Though I'll also say that I had a random blue sky idea that a mansion-type ride in DCA could be a sort of house of mirrors in the lab of the Mad Doctor from the old Mickey cartoons. Not exactly an original plot/story, but it might be a good route for them to take.

If they built this in DCA it would render the Haunted Mansion totally irrelevant. Im sorry, I love HM but a Mystic Manor type of attraction at DCA would be a game-changer.

I totally disagree with your assumption about HM that ride is timeless and guests will always love it! And so will MM in DCA

I get the feeling that whenever Disneyland attractions are in the talks of being cloned for other parks (Carsland to DHS), we don't like it, but whenever another park gets an awesome new attraction, we want it cloned here at Disneyland. Am I the only seeing the double standard? o.O

Sure would! As long as they remain two separate/different attractions and not a second HM for the reason of keeping the lines down.

this is true but I think a lot of people don't mind cloning as much when it involves one of the parks outside of the US. WDW and DL should be more unique imo

I'd have to disagree that a MM type ride would render the HM irrelevant. The Manor, if done right, would probably complement rather than render the Mansion irrelevant. HM is different enough from the MM that it's possible to tell a different story, similarly creepy but with different effects.
The line of logic that 2 similar ride types render the other "irrelevant" just doesn't work I think. I mean... if that WERE the case any two rides that are similar could make the other irrelevant. The way I see it, DCA needs a good attraction that can sort of eat people up and increase DCA's overall capacity, and a Mystic Manor/Haunted Mansion type ride could do that pretty well.

I love the sound of "cloning", (breathing, labored breathing)

If you think about it, Tower of Terror is a clone, and a great ride cloned in 4 diffrent parks. Why not bring the experience home. With a few twists here and there, and some tweaks here and there...High capacity "peaple eater/people pleaser"

They should all be unique. That way there is a reason to visit all of them.

Re: Would you like to see Mystic Manor in DCA ?

The pier could use a actual, thematically accurate dark ride (Little Mermaid is decent, but more suited to Fantasyland, Midway Mania is fun in a passing sort of way but it's essentially video game mechanics.)

So, yes to a 'Museum of Oddities' for the boardwalk (old amusement piers did have sideshows and 'cabinets of curiousities') with eccentric architecture, collection of rare items from all over the world, Rolly Crump-type elements as a nod to the Museum of the Weird, and the trackless system and effects from Mystic Manor. This would be a good addition, something fun, match the area, and not a rip-off of the Haunted Mansion if done correctly.

    It is known.
