Re: Will USH expansion be a threat to the DLR in the future?
Guys, remember that Waterworld is saying bye to make way for a new attraction and so is the effects studio show.
If the replacement rides are anywhere near as good/interesting as Transformers, they'll have quietly made some large steps towards a big improvement.
If they tweaked the studio tour a bit on top of it and put more movie artifacts on display (like Warner Bros. does with the Central Perk set, cars from famous films, etc.)--more than they do in that single building on the lower lot--that'd add a lot too.
Again, in basically 4 years, they'll have added WWoHP, replaced Waterworld w/ something, replaced the Effects stage w/ something, replaced T2 w/ Despicable Me, added Transformers and King Kong. That's not too shabby.
They also needed to update the characters who walk around and the shows they have. If they do that, the park would be comparable to CA Adv. IMO.
Have fun! Do a trip report if you decide to go! You'll likely get to see the set of a current TV show like "Big Bang Theory", perhaps view the movie vehicle garage (batmobiles, anyone?) or see the props from the series "Friends" among other points along the tour.
Big misunderstanding. I was saying I've been on the WB tour (twice actually) and that Universal should offer something similar at a better price. It's $299 to do it at Universal.
