Re: Has anyone sat in the smoking section to view Fantasmic?

I'd rather stand next to a smoker than next to someone eating a turkey leg. I just can't stand the smell of those things.

Appreciate that! I agree, not all smokers are careless or thoughtless and I kind of feel bad for the polite smokers who have to follow the rules put in place to keep thoughtless ones from aggravating people.

Or even worse: CORN NUTS. YUCK. Sorry, passengers cannot eat those when I'm driving. If you're eating them while driving, let me out so I can walk.

It's kind of ironic when you think about it: I wanna line up in front of the pyro, but please don't burn tobacco.

I've never said I'm consistent. One, I enjoy the smell of, the other, not so much.

I'll be honest, I actually like that the smoking sections are tucked away in the parks. It makes it so families don't have to walk through clouds of smoke and they usually are in very scenic places. My favorite is the one near grizzly river run. It's a gorgeous place to be away from the big crowds.

They aren't all tucked away. The one under the Monorail beam by the Matterhorn is horrible. It's right next to a crowded walkway as well as the line for the ride. People stand right at the edge of he smoking area blowing their poisonous cancer causing vapor all over those who are passing by or waiting for the ride. The one on Big Thunder Trail is just as bad, as is the old Maliboomer location. I really can't wait for the day when the parks are smoke-free.

You are outdoors. Cancer causing vapors? I think you will live.

So you are denying that second hand smoke causes cancer?

Dont watch Fantasmic from the smoking section or stand next to it then, if its an issue for you.

    Problem solved.

Obviously that's not the issue here. Someone was claiming that the smoking areas were all tucked away. They aren't, as I pointed out in my previous post.

Not denying it. Im sure constant exposure in many car rides...or a house...or with children who are probably more susceptible...but outdoors for a minute or a second during passing? I don't buy that. Leave smokers alone. They have 3 small spots per park.

The spot mentioned is awesome for Fantasmic viewing. I often use it. And as far as the smoking in it goes I can't complain since it's a designated area anyways. I actually think it's nice of Disney to designate an area for smokers. It probably helps control people from trying to sneak in a smoke elsewhere.

Why not? The only place in the park us smokers can smoke is in the smoking areas. I respect those rules when I go to a place that has smoking areas, and don't smoke elsewhere. Why do so many non-smokers want to take away the few little areas we smokers have left? Cause you want a better seat to see Fantasmic sorry I will smoke in a smoking area even while watching the show till Disney tells me I can not.
