Re: Have you had your "perfect" Star Tours II Sequence?

My ideal ride is one that doesn't involve the prequels at all, but I highly doubt that will ever happen.

I did have a pretty good one the other day, though. It started with Darth Vader and then took us to Hoth. After that it put is in the asteroid field being chased by Jango Fett adn then we were chased through the Death Star by Darth Vader. After running him out we went into the Capital to be greeted and congratulated by the Rebellion. Best experience I have had on that ride yet.
I wish Frozen would have never been made.

I went on in about 5 or 6 times last year and twice (I think) this year and it wasn't until the very last ride this year that we FINALLY got something other than pod racing in the second part. It was frustrating to get that one EVERY dang time!

I have! It was great, there was a silly little robot pilot and he didn't know much about flying. We almost crashed going out of the station but he saved us at the last moment. We ended up flying through an asteroid belt and into an icy asteroid before finally being attacked by the Empire and helping to destroy the Death Star by going on a trench run! It was so awesome.

Strangely enough, most of the sequences recently have been absolutely terrible...

Does anyone around here prefer the original attraction versus the new version?

It seems most everyone I know, all of them regular Disneyland goers, love the new one compared the the old one.
IMHO I think the older one was more fun, and in a way more realistic. Also I've never been a fan of wearing 3d glasses on any attraction, it takes away from the "reality" of the ride.

    Darth Vader
    Hoth
    Leia
    Naboo

This is my favorite ride, and as much as I love the Death Star sequence with Boba Fett it just can't beat Naboo in my opinion...from the shaking of the starspeeder to the riding on water and the squeal everyone has at the end of it....it is great!

I remember the movement of the old one but not what the "scenes" were. I like the feel of this ride better and once it starts I don't even notice the glasses. The glasses are especially neat on the ending where you crash into a rebel plane and the little robot mechanic falls into the cockpit with C-3PO.

You could say I had the perfect one this spring, during the original one in France, but I just liked the first time I went on it, when I was the rebel spy, made my whole day, although it wasn't really that exciting, it was fun being the rebel spy the first time I rode it on the day it opened, and then being the rebel spy the day after that, but I always got Kashyyk, I really like Naboo, Hoth, and Tatooine

The new one is terrible, just like the new Star Wars movies are terrible. It loses all the charm of the first Star Tours and replaces it with mediocre CGI and a jumbled (by design) narrative that doesn't work at all.

I do. I finally have had a good "adventure" but I love the original a lot more.

I still haven't seen the Courescant ending though I've ridden it ~10 times. I've only seen Kashyyk once.

Am I the only person who ALWAYS gets pod racing and the gungan world? It gets pretty annoying.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if that were done on purpose, just like the Vader hand thing. Movies "cheat" on scale all the time, either for effect or for practical reasons while shooting, but this is supposedly actually happening, so they should have kept it as realistic as possible; then again, this is why it's called "cheating," and we're not supposed to notice anything but the intended effects (sure... ).

I get the Coruscant ending a lot of the time, and I really wish that I wouldn't (it's my least favorite).

It's been a long time since I've had Kashyyk or Coruscant, but it took forever for me to first get Tatooine or Naboo!
