Re: Would you like to see Luigi's flying tires replaced?

When I first heard about Cars Land, Luigi's Flying Tires was the attraction I was least excited about. But I went on it, since it was new. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Maybe low expectations helped. I actually prefer it without the beach balls. I found them a distraction. The only thing I don't like is the long wait, but then again, the theming is flawless.
So, no, I guess I wouldn't want it replaced.
    I wouldn't miss Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, though.

I know they talked about adding a joystick to control the tire. Did they ever do that? If not, what's the status on that?
There is no joystick on the tires as of last week. I think that would make it easier, but I honestly think it's the concept that is lacking and not necessarily the tires.

I've never understood why people have trouble controlling them. I've found that if you just follow their directions, they control just fine.

They just need to be redesigned smaller, lighter, and faster. They're a pain to use in their current state and you just slowly drift around.
Women, they make the highs higher and the lows more frequent.

I think they should replace it with another car movie theme.

apparently when it rains the ride is genius...they should just add a water element!

I read the directions more than once and I still had a hard time. I just kept sliding on the seat and not moving my tire.

"It was so lame it was fun". Ah, now that's The Disney Difference™!

Seriously though, it's an ok ride. I commend them for trying to bring back a beloved DL attraction from the 60s (Flying Saucers), but in their quest to make them actually work consistently as well as comply with a bazillion 21st century safety regulations, the end result leaves a lot to be desired. And the wait is terrible unless you get there right in the morning. As far as replacing it, well I don't think that's going to happen, and I don't necessarily think it SHOULD be replaced, but some improvements would be nice.

Meh, it's something different. I've only been on it once, I felt like by the time we got the hang of it, it was time to exit. Perhaps we'll give it another shot. It is a fun concept though.

What would be really fun is if they add squirt guns like other parks have were spectators can put a quarter (Disney would probably charge more like $2 or so) in and then use a water cannon to drench some random stranger in one of the flying tires. That would really make it more fun, for the riders to either get wet on hot days or try to dodge the water cannons, and for the spectators, plus Disney gets to make a little extra money off the whole thing.

It amazes me that fans think Disney's attractions (especially new, expensive ones) are like coffeemakers. If you change your mind and want a different color, just get another one.

It's not a coffeemaker, it's more like a private jet.

We were cracking up laughing the entire ride as we leaned left, right, forward, and back, bumped into people, and just had a great time. It was so lame it was fun if that makes sense. We enjoyed it, and it was good to see other people cracking up just like we were and not taking things too seriously. We wouldn't wait longer than 20 minutes to ride it, but if it's at the 20 minute mark or under, we definitely jump aboard for a ride.
I completely agree. I don't know how you can go on Luigi's Tires and not have a really good belly laugh. One thought about the ride is though; you have to enjoy it with a partner. I think a single rider might think it's lame. I wonder how many people that say "they don't enjoy it" are single riders.

Yes. I feel the wait is too long for the length of ride you get.

I heard a lot of people say it was slow and hard to move, but my bf and I had no trouble moving around at all and those things can scoot pretty fast.
