    Swing Dancing Returns To Disneyland

In a post on the Disney Parks Blog, they mention the entertainment happening during the 24 hour party. At the end of the article, this is mentioned:

24 Hours of Fun and Entertainment in Three Disney Parks « Disney Parks Blog

During the All-Nighter, the Royal Theatre at Fantasy Faire hosts a Royal Swing Ball, with a live band from 10 p.m. – 1:40 a.m., and beginning June 15 the “Jump, Jive, Boogie Swing Party” will return to the Royal Theatre for select nights during the summer. Keep an eye on the calendar page on Disneyland.com for dates and information.
I am very excited that this long time tradition will continue at the park. It just shows you that you can't always judge Disney too quickly when it comes to things. Every one thought that Disney had lied about the Swing Dancing returning but here it is coming back.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.

Boo that stuff needs to stay out from there it doesn't fit there anymore. I never did like that stuff in the first place. I though that dance stuff was dumb.

From someone who can barely do the Electric Slide, I can say that I will thoroughly enjoy watching some swing dancing if I get the chance!!

Folks just a post to remind all that if you've come here to rub in a victory, and/or to mock those on the other side of this long running discussion topic (no matter where you come down on the subject) that would most likely be a terrible idea, and clearly against our rules.

"Zoot suit riot, RIOT! Throw back a bottle of beer!"

That's an old song I haven't heard in a while. Never fancied the dance myself, but the costumes people would come in still amazed me. Felt like going back in time.

I'm glad to hear that Disney Management is keeping their word and bringing back the dancing.

Re: Swing Dancing Returns To Disneyland

I'm happy about this If you would have asked me last year, I wouldn't have cared. In the last half year, I have taken up various styles of dance and found my new love. Although I sometimes lack rhythm, i make up for that in the fun factor!

About a month ago, while voyaging to Trader Sam's, there was a little swing dance event going on next to the rainforest cafe. Myself and friends decided to stop and spectate a bit. The music isn't on my normal playlist, but i can defiantly appreciate it. A few songs in, I was asked to dance by an older gentleman. Reluctant at first, I ended up hitting the floor with him. Since then, in addition to my other weekly dancing hobbies, I have included swing class since I enjoyed my experience at DLR so much.

Say what you will if you dislike the idea of bringing swinging to the park, but I myself can't wait to dress up and kick up my heels a bit It's a fun dance, for all ages!

For those of you who don't like it, then you clearly do not appreciate history and if you don't appreciate history, then you must not like Disneyland either. Just sayin

While I am happy that the swing dancing is coming back I just don't think it belongs in the PFF area anymore but would rather see it in Hollywoodland or somewhere in BVS in DCA.
