My high school alumni choir director received a note from The Disneyland Candlelight team earlier today. Check it out:
Disneyland Candlelight Ceremony and Processional 2013
The Candlelight Processional has been a Disneyland tradition since 1958, bringing holiday magic to Main Street, U.S.A., with the help of celebrities like Cary Grant, John Wayne, Dick Van Dyke, Gary Sinise, Kurt Russell and James Earl Jones. The Candlelight mass choir is the centerpiece of this holiday season highlight, and we would like to let your choir know about this year's spectacular celebration!
For the 2013 Holiday season the Candlelight Processional will be performed in its traditional schedule of 2 nights at Disneyland Park, with two performances each night. Candlelight will be performed Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8, 2013.
Specific instructions about how to apply and audition for this special opportunity will be posted at DisneylandEvents.com in August. We will send out another email to let you know when that information is on line.
We hope you have a great summer break and look forward to hearing your groups audition material later this year.
Your Candlelight Team
So to me this confirms a return to the traditional schedule. When our director called Lori Cook, Candlelight Contact, she said there was a new upper-level management group. Also, according to this contact, the park apparently lost money from lack of Main Street revenue during the 20 days of Candlelight last year.
Just wanted to share,
