What are we walking on at Disneyland

I'm sure the streets are somekind of the usual asphalt but the side walks and walkways? I'm having troubles walking on concrete sidewalks so I got wondering why after a long day walking at Disneyland and DCA my knees are not killing me.

Lots of residential sidewalks are slightly slanted towards the street for drainage and such. Extensive walking on those can cause imbalances that lead to knee problems.

I can confirm the rubber mix. It's to help with traction when wet.

Main Street has rubber mixed in. They did that so it won't hurt as bad

It depends where you are walking. Some places are concrete, some are asphalt, some are even brick. If you are walking in the Space Mountain restrooms, you don't want to know.

Aw. I want to bounce around on a Flubber sidewalk.

They need the flubber sidewalks in Tomorrowland. That way you can do the bouncy moon bounce walk.

I was thinking that, but it didn't seem to make sense how a rubber mix could make a difference.

I wish they would pave the whole park with those squishy mats that are used for employees who have to stand in one spot for a while.

There are lots and lots of additives for concrete, asphalt concrete and asphalt that could give it a bit of give. I'm not sure what Disney uses though. Great question.
