Re: Ticket prices going up June 2nd

No real surprise here. With attendance booming and no slow down of visitors they can get away with this pretty easy. After all they need to try and recoup money for their awesome MM+

Looks like a $5 increase for one park/day tickets and $10 increase on each parkhopper.
$30 increase for Deluxe AP and $20 increase for Premium AP.

    A $12 increase on 1 Day Parkhoppers.

Ouch, $129 additional on the Premier. That should put it over $1000 after tax. That's a pretty massive price rise. Even if you averaged it out, it's $65 extra per coast. I'd gladly take that $30 price rise that everybody else is unhappy with.

It doesn't surprise me. You have to think about the possible circumstances. It could be the fact that they need to take advantage of the crowds, which is something to expect if I was a shareholder of the company. Also, we don't know if the cost of running the park has increased, so it could be the fact that they are just trying to keep the bottom line level.

We're all stupid (I mean this generally) to the overall costs of running this place. It sucks, yes, but it's something all businesses must do.

Keep in mind that Disney is offering a product/service. If you don't like the cost, you don't have to buy it. We must separate our needs from our wants.

Well.... we go through this every year. I just wish Disney didn't try to push the park experience as a "great value". They've used that phrase 2 years in row. It is an expensive luxury that people may or may not be willing to pay for.

Exactly what I plan on doing. Not buying it.

I will complain about it, because I can. And I get it - people keep paying it, so they haven't hit a point of diminishing returns. The park is crazy busy all the time now.

Meh. People who renew their APs will simply go more often. I would, if I chose to buy one.

Anyone else get that email survey from Disney the other day?

funny how the survey end date was yesterday, and the price increase was today.

And I agree...if you renew, you are definitely going to go more. And probably spend less elsewhere. It's a smart move for Disney. You could make the argument that this increases attendance.

Bummer...my pass just expired and I wasn't going to renew...especially with just a $20 increase for premium, but the premier is going up $130, and as I was hoping/planning to go to WDW next year it makes sense to buy it now
