Talking Glass slipper given out at Disneyland

On a birthday trip to Disneyland on May 18, 2013, my boyfriend and I were exiting the princess photo op area in the new wing of Fantasyland. We were walking by the Royal Theatre, and one of the attendants dressed in royal attire, stopped us to say happy birthday. Then he said "do you know why your name ends with an H" looking at my birthday button with my name on it. I said "no why" and he said because all "_____'s are from Heaven". Then he reaches into his pocket and he pulls out a small plastic "glass slipper". Being the huge princess fan that I am, it was like receiving a real glass slipper from Prince Charming (even though he obviously wasn't a prince). I've been to Disneyland over a hundred times in my lifetime, and have never seen anyone receive a "glass slipper". I've talked to friends and they never have heard of it either. Is this something new that Disneyland is doing? Or was this a one time thing?

They do that with shoes and sunglasses that aren't claimed in the lost and found.

I had Baloo offer me a pair of used Ray Bans on my last visit.

    Just kidding, interesting story!

I have heard of this. Someone in the past few months on this forum or maybe another said their little daughter had received one on a special day too. Very cool Disney magic!

Yup, I remember that too! It seems like they randomly give them out to children. But here's the link to the post if anyone is curious:

They have had "Glass" slippers to give out for several years.

I have seen them handed out several times. It is usually a suprise for a random guest of any age. Anywhere from a toddler year to older guest. Last week I saw one given to an obviously ill elderly lady in a wheelchair, who was at the Repunzel show in the Royal Theater. She and her husband had on Anniversery Buttons.

She was as thrilled as any three year old.

Thanks for quoting that link, so nice to see that other cast members were spreading Disney magic around.

It looks fantastic. It is things like these that make Disneyland special.

Thanks for sharing the picture. I asked a couple of years ago about seeing a picture. That is really cool, very nice memento to take home. Congrats!

Re: Glass slipper given out at Disneyland

It was truly a magical surprise. I had never seen one of these "glass slippers" and we had just walked out of the princess area getting photos taken. I love the princesses new home, seriously walked right in at the start of the day for photos no 2 hour wait. And then to be handed that on the way out of Fantasyland's new wing it was just magical. It's sitting on our trophy shelf with a tiara I got for my last birthday. It's one of those little things that makes Disney so special.
