I'm heading over to the coast this morning (yeah, beat that heat, baby) so I won't be able to go on a test run to see if it's the 'real deal' or just pineapple yogurt which is NOT THE SAME AT ALL. Tried to get DH to delay our departure til after noon so I could check it out, he just looked at me funny. He doesn't get it.
I went to the Roseville Location (just up the street from my office). It's the real deal, they even have the "Dole Non-Dairy" posters up.

I talked to the guy, he said he has it now-and-then... about 25% of the time, but Rocklin has it about 90% of the time. Basically they have twice the machines he has. They're a yogurt place, but run the Dole as it offers a non-fat non-dairy product some people like.

'taws awsome... I probably got 3-4 Disney Dole Whips for $4!

Well, there's a Menchie's in the shopping center where my office is on Beach Blvd, so I'm going to head there now and I'll let everyone know tomorrow how close it is to the "real thing".

According to the website for the one at our house it's the same product from the same supplier, so unless Disney adds something to theirs or somehow prepares it differently I don't see how it would taste different. I will try some this weekend.

I was able to get a Dole Whip at the Arizona State Fair a few years back. Not sure if the booth is there every year though.

I prefer ice cream to powder and frozen water myself. Especially after looking at the ingredient list which reads like the answer to an AP chemistry exam. To each his own, I guess, and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk does have Dole Whip.

Well, I went to Menchie's last night, and sadly the one by my office does not carry the Dole pineapple flavor. The guy said that a lot of people have been asking for it lately (coincidence, or are they MiceAge people???), but different locations carry different flavors based on what sells.

Here is the Dole sign from my local Menchie's. Totally not a pretender. It is the real deal.

I bought some from Nubi Yogurt yesterday and put it in the freezer to see how it would hold up. not bad. it didn't get rock hard, softer than some sorbets. probably should let it thaw if you want to eat with a spoon. it works very well with pineapple juice to make a smoothie.

We found Lappert's Ice Cream and Coffee Lounge in San Diego's Dole Whip was the closest thing to real Dole Whip outside of Disneyland in our area (without having to make it yourself). They have one in Las Vegas also, though I have yet to try the Dole Whip there though, and not planning a trip any time soon.

Ah, Dole Whip. You're either in the cult, or you're not. There is no in between.

That said, I'm a card carrying cult member.

Okay... did some research and for those of you who live in the Nor-Cal, Santa Rosa area; apparently, "Yogurt Farms" has a flavor like the one at the famous Tiki Room. I will go sometime this week to confirm that the taste may match the magic at the Kingdom...

That is what I was hoping to hear. Torani products are easy to find in Utah so I won't be surprised if I see that flavor show up somewhere. Mint Julep making here I come!

Now I should not have been surprised that Torani would make a flavor similar to a Disney Mint Julep, I already use their Cherry flavor and Cafe Rio's Mint Limeaid to make a "Mint Julep Inspired" drink all the time.

I also feel envy reading about all the So-Cal yogurt shops which sell Dole Whip! Lucky!
