DCA focusing to much on the SoCal side of California?

When showing my friend around DCA for the first time this past summer, she thought it was absolutely wonderful! Although, since she lived in the San Francisco, she was a bit disappointed in the lack of NorCal references of the park. Yes, we have the entire land of Grizzly Peak and Pacific Warf, including the San Francisco restroom themed facade across from the Little Mermaid but she felt it just wasn't enough.

San Francisco is such a major part of California and is the least represented in the park.

What do you guys think? Should DCA start focusing on adding more NorCal areas to the park?

((In my Opinion, Paradise Pier is debatable on whether its on the Northern or Southern Coast of California))

In all honesty DCA focuses way too much on the No Cal side of California. Meaning No California - at all.

I don't think so at all...with the exception of BVS and Hollywood, there really isn't much of anything about Southern CA in DCA. Even in Soarin', they only show about four scenes from Southern CA; the rest focus on other parts of the state. Northern CA is represented enough in the park.

I've always taken Paradise Pier to be about Santa Cruz and the boardwalk there - we did have amusement piers here in Southern CA, and we still do, but then you do have that nice row of San Francisco houses right by the Little Mermaid, and Pacific Wharf nearby, so thinking that it depicts a Northern CA pier wouldn't be off target, IMHO.

Totally right, we need more focus on Nor Cal. I like the Redwoods Challenge Trail and Grizzly Peak for this reason.

They took out the bridge, a major NoCal landmark, but I still think there is adequate representation.

That bridge did nothing for me, I'm glad it's gone.

It would be nice to have more represented, but I think we have enough. I'd love to see an expanded san fransisco area going from pacific wharf past CL to BL. Something Sacramento related would be cool as well (it is our Capitol after all)

I'm with a couple of people here, I think NorCal is represented pretty well in the park. At the same time, a lot of the California feel is gone, now. They've "Disneyfied" DCA a lot.

Perhaps we could add a Sasquatch or the space aliens that live under Mt. Shasta?

Cars is set in Southern California, but those bugs look like Central California bugs to me.

I'm from San Francisco and I think it's just fine. I was a little sad when they took away the Golden Gate Bridge, but I got over it. I think we also have a lot of representation in the style of food in DCA. I always end up eating at Boudin and thinking it's like being at home, but so much better!

You know what's missing from DCA? Snow resorts. We have Big Bear and Mammoth. Completely unrepresented in DCA. I wouldn't mind it to be a seasonal change to make the Grizzly Peak area become a snow capped wilderness during the winter.

i'd say its pretty evenly distributed.

the grand californian hotel also plays a big part in the park's identity so i would count that one for northern california too. also, if the rumors are true, condor flats will be absorbed into grizzly peak. and although the wine country trattoria is technically part of the pacific wharf, it represents a pretty different area.
