Universal Studios has the largest backlot in the world. Disney's backlot is paltry.

ALL the studios go to Universal for their backlot, it's not just Disney.

Maybe not "hate" per say, but the last few years Universal Creative has become very arrogant. Many people from inside Universal Creative have this arrogant attitude now like "we did Islands of Adventure and Wizarding World, who the hell is Disney?!". They've made a few good rides the past few years and now think they are king of the industry and quite frankly disrespecting Disney that pioneered this industry. Universal makes a good product, but they need to dial down the arrogance and respect the company that even made what they do possible, which is Disney.

Im certain many many Imagineers find Universal arrogance to be offensive, Im not an Imagineer and I find it offensive.

Huh??? I don't see Universal as being arrogant at all. They've been very successful in Orlando, and they're starting another journey in Hollywood, and I for one can't wait for that to start. They've made announcement after announcement, just recently Super Silly Fun Land for Hollywood and the Simpsons expansion for Orlando. Not to mention Transformers, which took them, what? A year to open? Universal barely makes announcements in the first place, and they rarely throw out some concept art. Can't say the same for Disney, who will make an announcement and we won't see any updates on the project (Avatar Land). Universal is successful... They can't be happy for themselves? Are you basically saying that someone who repeatedly comes in second and finally comes in first can't take it too seriously and can't celebrate? How is Universal being arrogant? Why do they need to respect Disney? And same vice versa? I just don't understand.

How are you certain that Imagineers are offended by Universal's success or happiness?

What? I cannot think of one instance of this described arrogance? That's a huge unsubstantiated claim to make. Can you provide at least one example of this? I hardly think rapid expansion can be described as arrogance.

Now, it WOULD be arrogant to rush contruction of your own theme park, thereby forcing you to open it with a very limited attraction list, simply to beat the competition.

While the Disney Studio still has a couple of sound stages, they no longer have any backlot at all (replaced with the Frank G Wells building) outside of one street facade. Disney does have the Golden Oaks Ranch off the 14 FWY, but it does't have any of the standard elements one associates with a "back lot".

Generally, Imagineers are thrilled every time Universal ups the bar. they keep hoping that it will force Disney to try and face the challenge with something better.

Unfortunately, Disney doesn't appear to be inclined to do anything significant if their bottom line hasn't been hit. And apparently that hasn't happened enough for them to make the move. They have apparently satisfied themselves with Carsland and the WDW Fantasyland update. While these are definitely viable projects, but neither have actually even topped the Spiderman Adventure, let alone IOA's Harry Potter land.

So, Imagineers end up languishing on sub par projects, longing for Disney to step up their creative pace. They have the talent (that's where Universal got a lot of theirs from) to do incredible things. They just need someone who can recognize and support an over-the-top DISNEY attraction that can put them back in the leadership position.

Golden Oak Ranch has a huge Business District set and a beautiful residential street with many home styles ranging from suburban house to mansion. You probably don't realize how much of Golden oak you see in tv shows and commercials! Urban District | A Movie Ranch Like No Other

Ah! Too bad it's only going to be similar to Carthay, and not a duplicate. I would love it if it were Carthay .. and a real actual theater like the original!! Unlike Disney's .. which isn't a theater at all! But a restaurant.

And if it contained an attraction inside .. that would make it even better. As nice as the Carthay Circle restaurant is - I wished BVS's big icon was an entrance into a ride.

Dear Peoplemover Fans, If you want to see a new attraction that at least mimics the 1967 Peoplemover in a future Tomorrowland remodel, you need to write to the powers-that-be, and let them know. If you don't - Then the next time Tomorrowland is remodeled, you will see a land barren of any "Peoplemover" type attraction.

Just because Uni is making a theater that could be Carthay, doesn't mean they're copying Disney.

BVS is basically a copy of Los Angeles, which includes Hollywood and surrounding areas. Uni might just be trying to replicate an area of Southern California that would help them reinforce their Studio Theme.
