Re: Halloween Season and Party Dates are out, with more parties

I think the only reason they haven't made a year-round TNBC ride is for the sheer fact that the limited time offer attracts people to the park. People like me. I am a huge fan of the movie and both times I have been to Disneyland in the Fall was so I could see the Haunted Mansion overlay and I ride it as often as I can. I understand not everyone likes it, but Disney is at the point where they use it as a marketing tool to attract as many visitors at a certain time of year. Same goes for Ghost Galaxy. I remember hearing a rumor around 2008 that they were going to end Haunted Mansion Holiday, but the way they're banking on the Halloween parties I don't see that happening anytime soon.
I think taking the space for the Winnie the Pooh ride and making it a TNBC ride would be awesome, but then you run into theme issues. Nightmare doesn't belong in Critter Country. I would love a year-round TNBC ride, but it would probably get shoved inside DCA somewhere.
I wish Frozen would have never been made.

We went one time and walked away thinking that it really wasn't worth it. Yes, the park is less crowded, and you get to trick or treat, (stand in a line and walk up to a bin full of candy), and the fireworks, but that doesn't seem to justify the price to us.

Does anyone know if they do a Halloween overlay at the HM at the other Disney Parks like WDW? Or Phantom Manor at DLP? Or is Halloween an American holiday?

Haunted Mansion Holiday only happens at Disneyland California and Tokyo Disneyland.

Friday the 13th seems like the perfect day to kick off the spookiest time of year here at the Disneyland Resort, doesn’t it? From Friday, September 13 through October 31, the Happiest Place on Earth will get spookier again with the return of Halloween Time. And this year, Mickey’s Halloween Party will expand to a spooky total of 13 nights at Disneyland park!
Halloween Time features Disney villains, Mickey Mouse and his friends in Halloween costumes, a Día de los Muertos celebration and the special after-hours Mickey’s Halloween Party, plus – my favorites – Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy.
Be sure to get your Mickey’s Halloween Party tickets early at Disneyland.com/Halloween! Mark your calendars for the following dates:

    • July 8: Tickets on sale to Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders, Disney Rewards Visa card holders and Disney Vacation Club members
    • July 15: Tickets on sale to general public
    • Mickey’s Halloween Party 2013 dates: Friday, September 27; Tuesday, October 1; Friday, October 4; Tuesday, October 8; Friday, October 11; Tuesday, October 15; Friday, October 18; Monday, October 21; Wednesday, October 23; Friday, October 25; Monday, October 28; Wednesday, October 30; and Thursday, October 31.

And while you’re at Mickey’s Halloween Party, check out the new “Monsters U Dance Party” at Tomorrowland Terrace. Class time is over, and the students of “Monsters University” join Mickey’s Halloween Party guests in a family-friendly frat party with Monster U’s most popular students, Mike & Sulley!
Take a look at some of the fun waiting for you during Halloween Time!

We’ll have more updates on Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort here on the Disney Parks Blog, and you can get even more information at Disneyland.com/Halloween. And join the conversation on Twitter with the hashtag #HalloweenTime.

Re: Halloween Season and Party Dates are out, with more parties

Alright, since I have never been during Halloween (or X-mas ) I have no idea what these parties are for... you pay to join them?

Looks like I might be heading back to the parks for a girls trip this October (I was just there for 4 days this past weekend) and would be hitting it just during this time period.

So what's the deal with the parties/season? Do I need to allocate for anything special/different?

I must stand alone on this one but... Halloween at DL is pretty boring compared to Xmas.
They should add new stuff. Space Mt and Halloween fireworks were really nice in 2009 but they REALLY need to add new Halloween offerings. The HMH is nothing special since it runs through Jan.

I honestly hate Ghost Galaxy, but I know there are those who just love it. I would really like to see a spooky BTMRR After Dark or something along those lines - not necessarily entirely new theming, but maybe just eerie lighting. It IS supposed to be a ghost train, after all...

I think it would be interesting for them to open some sort of a real haunted house. Obviously it would have to be kid friendly but it would be something new and different.
