Here's a link to a map showing where the letters are being installed. They're at the south end of that drop-off oval area in the center.

I snapped these photos this morning (07/02) on my way to work.

As do I. California contains all the letters in my name and I was in the process of getting a photo of each letter to make a collage but never finished it. I was only missing "C". So sad.

Now you can run out into the street and pose for pictures!

BONUS: The street comes around a big curve. With trees, hiding the scene until you are there.

Was that an essential letter in spelling your name, or could you make do with the others?

So DCA gonna get a Tilt-a-Whirl in trade?

I wouldn't worry too much about people becoming roadkill in this area. It is not a busy street with lots of speedy traffic coming and going. It's just a pick up/drop off area. People walk on it all the time.

They look great there, but it could be the only thing that I miss about DCA 1.0. Well them and the Maliboomer.

Maliboomer would be a perfect fit with the Fair. Maybe you're more of a Fairgoer than a Disneylander?

Naw, my love for the Mailiboomer has more to do with personal nostalgia then theme park coherence.

What did you love about it, it seemed like an off the shelf carny ride that didn't belong. And I did go on it once.

    Re: DCA "C - A - L - I - F - O - R - N - I - A" At State Fair Of CA

Fall of 2002, my son just turned 1 and my Wife was pregnant with my daughter. I just graduated from University and my parents gave my Wife and me a trip to Disneyland as a gift. We were very young when we got married and we didn't have the $$ for a honeymoon, so we decided to make this a late honeymoon too! As it was out first time travelling, my son stayed with the grand parents.

We had both been to DL as children, but remembered very little, so it was like we were experiencing the park for the first time and it was awesome! Sept 11 was still somewhat fresh so DL was very quite and DCA was even more so. Many rides were walk-on and I was able to ride California Screaming and Maliboomer, AT NIGHT back to back to back to back (you get the idea) until I was sick. It was such a great trip that we were hooked and brought our kids back as soon as we felt they were old enough to enjoy it. Since then we have enjoyed at least 14 trips (I have done a few TR too) to the DLR and are always looking forward to the next one.

Funny enough, worst part of the trip was also one of the coolest. We were there when the Angles won the World Series and our last day (which was supposed to be a quite Tuesday) was the busiest day of the whole trip. So like I said, a personal love, not a great attraction. BUT, it was sure better than a smoking section… **COUGH-COUGH**
