Make Autopia A Real California Adventure

In another thread, it's been suggested that the Autopia attraction be moved to DCA.
I concur - with the following caveat...
Move it to the Hollywood lot area, and make it like the real Hollywood Freeway...too many cars, changing lanes without signalling, cutting each other off, rude and crude not only accepted but encouraged, etc...can they make smart cars to do this without actual crashes?
Or maybe the Orange Crush or the 405/101 or the Bay Bridge at 5pm, whatever...
He who gets to the end in one piece, wins -
That's a good way to improve DCA -
That's the real California Adventure... (lol)

    Kidding, of course (I think)
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

If you want to make it realistic, you need to put guns in the cars (kinda like the ones on Buzz Lightyear) you can shoot at the other cars who cut you off, just don't get caught... also make it a seperate admission for the ride for 'Insurance and smog' reasons.

Maybe if they ever built up the old parking lot, into a themed land of a big California city in the fifties/sixties (i.e. modern but retro looking), they can put it there, along with the proposed Incredibles coaster.

Design the cars so that sections fall off deoendinf where thwt're hit. Your Orange Crush idea would be a perfect name for the attraction. AAA could be the sponsor. Then, whoever breaks down would be assisted by road service... if they have a AAA card. Otherwise. they'ed either pay thru the nose out of pocket, or else be SOOL. What a promotion!

That is the best thing I've heard all day. Absolutely brilliant!

As for moving Autopia...it may be a boring ride, but they need to keep it in Disneyland. It's an original. I have a photo of my Grandfather with my Uncle (who was, maybe all of three) driving in one of the original cars.

probably...but that ride is more of a "holy crap! we're going to fall off of the edge of this tiny little curvy track!! I knew I was going to die because of McDonalds, but I didn't know it was going to be by crashing through their ceiling!!"

In the Disney-Pixar threads, some folks are suggesting the move to be made. I simply suggest that if that happens, it should be made more authentic (lol).

Re: Make Autopia A Real California Adventure

They should have an Autopia type ride at DCA. Maybe still run on gasoline. And themed to CARS in Hollywood Pictures Backlot or a new desert land.

DL's Autopia should still be called Autopia with new electric cars.

Would that be nice? Or perhaps just have some sort of other CARS attraction. Oh wait, some people don't want another Pixar attraction in DCA...

So was Rocket to the Moon, Hall of Chemistry, and a host of other attractions.

That didn't stop them from necessary changes to keep Disneyland up to date and fresh.

And as an automobile attraction is as TODAYland .. in a land meant for the future .... I say ..... Keep Tomorrowland in "tomorrow".

Automobiles and the California freeways are so totally "Disney's California Adventure" ......... and is so "20th Century" in Tomorrowland.
