Re: Tokyo Updates Jungle Cruise - Is Anaheim's "Old & Tired" As Well?

I think a different night version would be fun, as long as they kept the classic version during the day.

Perhaps tie in Indy into the jungle cruise a little bit more. Like throw in the sankara stones or the Idol into the jungle cruise. or throw in Jocks biplane docked on the water.

The Jungle Cruise is great as it is! Not only because of the incredible lush atmosphere there, but because it's one of the longer rides at Disneyland and one where you can sit back, relax, and have a good laugh with the whole family regardless of age or ability. It's also one of the original classic rides that I absolutely think should be saved and preserved with only minor updates over the decades.
If TDL wants to change theirs a bit I think that's fine, it's a copy of a copy of a copy and doesn't have the same history behind it that the original attraction does. And if anything, it gives a good reason to visit that park and other parks who made similar changes. That way you can see a different take on some of your favorite attractions and see if you like it better or if it just makes you appreciate more the timeless genius of the original ones here at Disneyland (cough cough... Tiki Room... cough cough).
Words any Disney fan and especially Disney employee should live by:

"Disneyland is a work of love. We didn't go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money."
    -Walt Disney

"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world."
    -Walt Disney

"I do not like to repeat successes, I like to go on to other things."
    -Walt Disney

"We did it, Disneyland, in the knowledge that most of the people I talked to thought it would be a financial disaster - closed and forgotten within the first year."
    -Walt Disney

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible."
    -Walt Disney

"I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse."
    -Walt Disney

I would be interested in seeing what they do to the JC in Tokyo. I think the JC is awesome but I can't sit here and say I don't want it enhanced either. Once I see what they do to the one over seas I can formulate a real opinion on the matter.

The idea of two different experiences night/day is very intriguing.
